• India has many growing seasons due to prevalence of high
temperature through a long period.

Kharif : July to October


❑ Sowing seasons- May to July
❑ Harvesting season- September to October
❑ Crops- Jowar, bajra, rice, maize, cotton, groundnut, jute,
sugarcane, etc.
Rabi: October to March

❑ Sowing season- October to December


❑ Harvesting Season-February to April
❑ Crops- Wheat, barley, gram, mustard, pea, potatoes, etc.

Zaid- March to June

❑ Sowing season- February to March


❑ Harvesting Season- April to May
❑ Crops- Water melon, cucumber, leafy & other vegetables.
