Hi everyone

In the next five minutes, I will emphasize what characteristics a good deputy head of house
should have and why I perfectly fit the responsible role.

The most important personality of a person in charge is a good relationship with everyone in
the boarding house. This holds the community together and enables individuals in the house
to trust you. Since the start of the year, I have built good relationships with the boys of all
different years. Over lockdown I was the only European person in the house. This was an
exciting experience but very important for me to appreciate how important it is to include
and involve every member of the house. Besides that, I got to know the younger boys
better. I found out that David and I have both interests in gaming, so he taught me how to
play a bit of call of duty and CSGO. With Justin and Stephen, I played a lot of basketball ,
and with Tony, I had interesting conversations about cyber securities.

A deputy head of house should be organized and should have the ability to communicate
well. As a person in chief, this is essential because you need to manage certain things, such
as everyone does their duties. When a problem occurs, you have to communicate with the
head of the house, housemaster, or matron. The IB helps me to be self-organized.
Coordinating seven different subjects, including the theory of knowledge, can be very
challenging. The key to success is keeping up with the work, doing prep in advance, and not
waiting till the last deadline. Besides that, languages are also a part of the IB diploma. Every
student has two speaking lessons per week in their second language. There we talk and
discuss topics of debate, articles, and books. These lessons are very beneficial as you learn
how to express yourself, communicate and support your perspective. Moreover, because I
study a variety of subjects from math’s and physics to economics, German, and geography I
can offer younger students brought help

A deputy head of house should be a role model to younger students. It would be best if you
were a role model from an academic perspective and as a person. The previous boarding
experience in my old school really helped me be open-minded as striving. But it also
showed me why it is so essential to support new boys settle in nicely. This is now my second
year of boarding. As a few people might know, I have been in another school before. I know
from my own experience that settling into a new community can be challenging. Getting
supported and intigrated by a respected person is therefore very important for the new
members. Especially international students find it often very hard at the first stage talking to
people because of their culture differences or language barriers. Getting supported from
people who had the same experience is therefore very important.

To conclude, I believe that you should vote for me because I am a very friendly, open-
minded, and optimistic person.
