Infants Room
Some new babies joined us this month. They have now settled very well in the Room. This
month we also got many new toys for outdoors and indoor that will add lots of fun and new
learning. We enhanced our gross motor skills and had whole-body exercise while playing
with balls, parachute, and some walking toys. In addition, we worked on various Montessori
practical life work like beading, spooning, puzzle-solving, grasping, and inserting to improve
our fine motor skills. We also focussed on our social and language skills by learning and
practising some new songs and conversing with our peers and educators.
This month we all participated in many special events. Firstly, it was an exceptional event,
i.e., Mother’s Day, for its celebration babies worked a lot to create art pieces for their mums
and prepared a presentation for mums. Thanks to all mums who took the time to join us for
the event. Children learned a lot while preparing for this special day.
After Mother’s Day, we learned about compost in International Compost week. Then, we
learned about worms and created a collage of worms using our artistic skills. After that, we
celebrated National family week, in which we learned a new family finger song. All the
Children loved it and enjoyed singing it every day during our group time.

After that, we celebrated National Sorry day and learned about Sorry.
Finally, we celebrated National reconciliation week, in which we learned about our shared
histories, cultures and achievements by participating in age-appropriate activities.
Well done, Babies!

Toddler's Room
May was an extremely busy month in the toddler's Room. We focused on many things, but
Room

Grace and Courtesy were one of the month's main highlights. As said by someone that
"Courtesy costs nothing but buys everything." We want all our toddlers to be courteous.
Therefore, we continued shaking hands and greeting others, walking in the classroom, sitting
on the chair, cleaning a spill and easel cleaning. Cleaning a spill was fun because they
thought they were playing with the water; while having fun, they gained a new skill.
In practical life, they all practised while some of them mastered rolling and unrolling the rug,
walking around the rug, pulling out and pushing in the chair, carrying a chair in a Montessori
way, and handling a book. In sensorial, they showed interest in colour box1, 2 & 3, geometric
solids, pink tower, knobbed cylinders, spindle box, and numbers and counters.
As we had National Family Week in May, we focused on the importance of family and
belonging. Toddlers had hands-on activities about family. For example, they enjoyed making
their houses with sticks, and they placed all the family members in the house. During this
learning experience, they drew their own families, and the main aim was to strengthen their
fine motor skills, as fine motor skills are needed in daily life to control and manipulate things
and objects in the environment.
Toddlers went for an excursion to the print media Imprestik. They were confident and happy
even in the new environment. They were keen to look around and did thumb printing with
special ink. They were happy to get the stickers. We extended the excursion by talking about
the traffic lights, playing several games to learn about the traffic lights, and following the
game's basic rules.
We are looking forward to having more fun and more learning in the coming months.

Senior Preschool room
This month we celebrated Mother’s Day, Walk Safely To School, National Family Week, National Sorry Day
and National Reconciliation Week. This month our Web display was all about Mother's from around the
world. We explored the traditions, cultures and rich heritage of Countries and Continents. We explored
Africa, Peru, Italy and Egypt. Mummy has something same to share with her child, and that is her big heart
and love. A heart-warming tale made children think and express about Mother's Love for her child. This
tale was a Japanese story about a Mother Fox and her child whom she sends to buy Mittens. This long trip
makes the child Fox confident, and he brings along Mittens and cuddles. Children did very well for
Mother's Day Morning Tea, and we hope you all loved the little gifts children made for you.
Children have been working on Large, Medium and Small, Addition with Red and Blue Number Rods,
Extensions with Brown Stairs and Pink Tower. Grace and Courtesy and Music and Movement has also
been a significant part of our program. Binomial and Trinomial Cubes were children's favourite as they
brought many challenges. However, what worked here was tremendous patience from our Pre-schoolers,
who are getting very confident at Teamwork. Monitors are doing great with their responsibilities and
follow through with their chores. No one has to remind them, and this shows their decision-making skill,
Leadership skill. Furthermore, children learn to draw Number Line, Make Graphs and work in their
booklets related to the School Readiness program. Currently, children are learning Sign Words.
Miss Neha has been playing Beethoven 9 Chicago Symphony Orchestra for children. They love working

with art, crafts and maps.

Weaving with Twigs and watching a Weaver bird was a breath-taking experience for children as the
process showed patience, focus and effort. Furthermore, yes, the bird is making a nest for his family. We
talked about Houses from all over the world and what makes a house so unique and special. It gives us a
roof, warmth and love from our parents, shelter, and food. Protection from storms and rain said, children.
National Family Week and Walk Safely to School were embedded in our program too, we covered topics
to learn about Safety and Hazards.
We are delighted to accompany Pre-schoolers on an Excursion, and there is so much to learn about
Labels, Lids and Printing. Above all, they are learning to manage our behaviour, getting involved and

participate and see what is out there in buildings where people work with Machinery. Learn to get vocal
and express ideas with adults. Some of the workers and Staff are Seniors. Moreover, their smiles are so
welcoming. They wave at children and talk to them. In return, our children are also politely
communicating with them.
Children have given some individual responses on the topic called Recipe of a Good Team. It was just
incredible. For National Family week, Miss Neha discussed with children why people leave their own
country and come to Australia. Again, the children's responses were significant. Photos of responses are
available on KeptMe.
Finally, we celebrated National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week through many activities and
experiences, and we hope you have enjoyed looking at children's photos on Moments in KeptMe. Dream
Time Stories, Yarning Circle and Artists from Australia big part of children's learning. Our Uluru trip was
indeed one of the best. Children have been learning to greet in an Aboriginal language.
Please feel free to approach Miss Neha regarding your child's progress.

Junior Preschool room
May has been a whirlwind of activities for our Younger Pre-schoolers. Educators encourage children to have
confidence in themselves and express their ideas when in the Preschool classroom. Our group shone in the
Mother's Day Morning Tea. Ms Celine and Ms Amarjit helped them think about what families do for one another
during National Family Week. Pre-schoolers were asked to prepare—fruit or cut veggies to help around the
kitchen or even hug parents and say. "I love you" There was time to explore our local community, with some of
our Younger Pre-schoolers joined the teachers on an excursion to the Print Warehouse and watched the digital
printers and robotics working to put stickers on the soup containers ready to go to market. Oscar covered his ears
but walked slowly to keep between the marked lines on the shop floor. It was a fantastic day out, and we learned a
lot about how adults employ machines to do things quickly and creatively to make our lives easier. Our Mother's
Day Morning Tea was a great success, and we enjoyed a lovely morning with lots of fantastic food contributed by
parents. We are still enjoying the last two days of Reconciliation Week, and we have been speaking with the
children about the activities and cultural highlights of the local aboriginal people. It is part of activities that will
continue until NAIDOC week in July, so there will be plenty of opportunities for our youngest children
to try their hand to explore indigenous culture in their way and to make this powerful sense of
community a part of the child's own lived experience! At Macquarie Park.
