Do you agree that the News media is biased?

There are many sources of information present in any region like

newspapers, new media on television, social media on phones and laptops,
magazines, books. News media is a very reliable source of information and it is
easily available on mobile, laptop and television with pictures and videos. Therefore
most people prefer news media over any other source of information. It is expected
from news media to be non-partial and unbiased with anyone as its job is to
present authentic and real news present to the public.

But for a long time, it is seen that news media sometimes become
biased towards the present government. The only reason is their interests in
making money. News media nowadays generally hiding the failures of the
government. They only praising the efforts of the government. For example, it is
very rare that news media publish and how anything about growing unemployment
in the country. They continuously ignoring the demands of the youths in the
country. News media never show the decreasing level of groundwaters, water
scarcity in different regions and negligible efforts of the government towards the
environment. Increasing rapes, murders and other crimes in the country and lack of
strong law against rapists in the country.

News media not only biased towards the government but also
towards some institutions. These are those institutions that are favouring them with
financial aid to suppress the real news within the institutions to prevent their good
image in the country. News media of various countries also try to hide the real
news or any unethical and unlawful activities in the country. For example, the news
media of China never show anything about violations of human rights within the
boundaries of the country. They never show the exploitation of Uighur Muslims in
the country.

The main objective of the news media is to only show the real
activities happening. This can only provide a balance in the society, can prevent any
unlawful and unethical activity and prevent exploitation of any community.
Therefore news media should be unbiased and careful in showing the news. As in
the long run, they are not doing justice to their work and to society too. It is our
responsibility too to authenticate any news before we can rely on it and take
decisions accordingly.
