REFLECTION ESSAY

The most used strategy in critical reading for me is annotating; it helps me a lot, especially

when I'm doing a task or reading a coronavirus article. Pinpointing the main point of what

I'm reading makes everything more understandable and easier for me; it enlightens me

of what the title actually means. I also use summarizing in my online class activities,

especially when I'm reading a book, journal, article, or an experiment about the topic of

what I need. I first annotate what I need and then summarize to understand it quickly

since I can't read 800 pages of a book that I need to submit later that night. I have a

terrible habit of procrastinating; I usually cram my essay activities, so I paraphrase. It

helps me make my deadline.

Online class in a pandemic is very stressful, mentally and physically draining. It wrecks

me in so many ways; one of them is my attention span. I have to re-read everything I

have read because I'm easily distracted, and sometimes I forget to understand what I'm

reading.

I read manga, manhua, and manhwa; it's an escape for me at this stressful online class,

and it is also a distraction for me, especially when I get to immerse myself in the story.

Now that I am more educated on what critical reading means, I realize that I use it also

when I'm reading a manga, manhua, or a manhwa. I immersed myself in the story just

because I wanted to know why the author chose that title or why the author uses that plot.
