Describe how SCHOOLS exercises its disciplinary power over the students using Foucault’s theory of

power as a point of view. Discuss in not less than 100 words.

ULS has taught students what kind of action is permissible across different processes.

Students slowly started to realize what an appropriate way of behaving in society was and what

was perceived to be bad behavior. Individuals who followed the rules and acted in what was

considered an appropriate manner were regarded more favorably and considered to be normal,

while individuals who disobeyed the rules and misbehavior were punished to some degree and

considered to be abnormal. One of the rules I recall being taught early and refreshed every year

was to be quiet and not fool around the hallway. The final feature of the school is "Micro-

co

Penalties and Punishments," which was evident through teachers praising those students who

obeyed the law, and doing well in exams and quizzes by giving them certain prizes. Other types

of discipline were punishment, such as staying after school, staying at lunch, or being sent to the

dean's office.
