What is MasterLife WP 799?


MasterLife WP 799 is a water resisting admixture for concrete complying with EN 934-2. As best in
class it works in two ways. Firstly, it reduces the amount of water required and, secondly, it blocks the
pours in the concrete, stopping water penetration. It provides good workability and reduces the risk of
complications at the pour stage. MasterLife WP 799 offers a watertight solution with the following
benefits:

• Reduced water permeability


• Reduced water penetration
• Reduced water absorption
• Reduced air permeability

Where can I use MasterLife WP 799?


MasterLife WP 799 should only be added to the concrete at the mixing stage. MasterLife WP 799 is
designed to be used for below ground structure where you require a watertight solution that complies
with both BS8102: 2009 and NHBC, Chapter 5.4 grades of waterproofing

What grades of waterproofing is MasterLife WP 799 suitable for?


MasterLife WP 799 complies with BS8102: 2009 Grades 1, 2 and 3. It also complies with NHBC
Chapter 5.4 Grades 2 & 3 and has BBA certification.

What finish can I expect from the concrete using MasterLife WP 799?
MasterLife WP 799 helps give the finished concrete a uniformed look that can be left as is or polished
if you are looking to make a feature out of the structure or wall/s.

What is the dosage rate of MasterLife WP 799?


The dosage rate of MasterLife WP 799 is 1 x 875g bag per 0.5m3. Other dosages may be used or
needed. In special cases, depending on specific job site condition, please consult our Technical
Services Department for advice.

Who can apply MasterLife WP 799?


BASF has a list of approved concrete supplies and applicators, please contact our Technical team for
further details.

What is the correct consistence level for watertight concrete?


To ensure the correct final consistence levels are achieved, we recommend that a consistence level of
50mm to 70mm be achieved before adding the MasterLife WP 799, as this this will then provide a
concrete with a target consistence level of 130mm to 150mm.

What is the minimum slab thickness for watertight concrete?


To meet the requirements of BS 8102:2009 for a Grade 3 habitable basement, the BASF Watertight
System requires a minimum section thickness of 200mm.

What are the length and terms of the warranty for the watertight system?
BASF’s watertight concrete solutions have a 10-year warranty, which includes loss or damages
caused by the visible ingress of water through the structure. However, the warranty does not include
the use of BASF’s watertight products outside the manufacturer’s recommendations. For example:

• The use of incorrect dosages and application methods


• Poor workmanship and/or compaction
• Deviations from the requirements of BS EN 1992-3:2006 Eurocode 2
• Design of concrete structures. Liquid retaining and containing structures
• Mechanical damage incurred from or by a third party

Do you offer site support to monitor pours for warranty purposes?


Yes, site support can be arranged in most cases. Please contact our Technical Services Department
for further information.

Do you offer full technical support?


Yes, we offer full technical and design support that complies with BS8102: 2009 and NHBC Chapter
5.4.
