21 Overseas visitors to three different areas in a

European country between 1987 and 2007

The line graph compares the number of foreigners who visited three different areas in a
European country from 1987 to 2007
It is clear from the chart that the figure for visitors coming to three areas increased over the
period shown. Overall, a much larger number of those visiting coast and lake were recorded in
comparision with overseas visitors going to mountains
In 1951, the number of comers visiting the coast was about 40,000. The figures for two
desinations were lower, at about 20,000 and 10,000 respectively. By 2000, the number of people
spending time on coast and lakes rose to just over 60.000 tourists, while visitors coming to the
mountains reached just under 30,000 after its 13-year instability.
In 2007, the number of foreigners choosing the coast as their holiday destination remained high,
whereas the rate of travellers to the lakes indicates a steep drop after reaching a peak of nearly
80,000 in 2002. In contrast, the EU country still experienced the lowest growing trend
