PERFORMANCE TASK 1. Directions: In this activity, your task is to come up with


operational definitions for emotions and behaviors. For each of the following
statements, provide an operational definition for the underlined words. (2 POINTS
EACH)

A. Score on a depression test

B. How long someone sleeps

C. The number of people arrested in a given day for murder, roberry etc.
D. How many times a person helps someone else

E. One’s grade on a test divided by how long you studied

weather and violent crime.

toward the other children.

_____1. The research process uncovers what other writers have written about your
topic. Your education paper should include a discussion or review of what is
known about the subject and how that knowledge was acquired.

_____2. It states the main research problem and thesis argument. What precisely
are you studying and why is it important? How original is it? Will it fill a gap in
other studies? Never provide a lengthy justification for your topic before it has
been explicitly stated.

logical manner. As the last part of a research paper, it provides a clear
interpretation of the results of your research in a way that stresses the
significance of your study.

summarize the accomplishments a researcher wishes to achieve through the
project and provide direction to the study.
