Scope of Work for Audits at Apollo Hospitals

October 22nd, 2021

Background:
Smart Joules has partnered with Apollo Hospitals to design, finance, execute and manage
comprehensive energy retrofit programs in all their large facilities across India. Based on the initial
scope document, data collection sheet shared and subsequent discussion we welcomes the
opportunity to conduct a comprehensive energy audit of BG Road, Jayanagar and seshadripuram
facilities in Bengaluru.
Below sections give the scope, assumptions, exclusions, SJPL and end client support required for the
execution of the project.
Initial Set of Facilities Covered in the audit:

Site
BG Road, Bangalore
Seshahdaripuram, Bangalore
Jayanagar, Bangalore

Initial Scope of Work

1. Basics: Prepare base line data as per shared data collection template based based on energy
bills, name plate details, set points, log book records, site measurements analysis.
Measurement will be done for all working and standby chillers, pumps, AHUS, Cooling
Towers, Untary Systems and lighting.
2. Performance evaluation :
A. Chiller plant, pumps, cooling Tower, AHUs and unitary systems
a. Measure and establish existing performance and efficiency levels of the
overall chiller plant room (24 hour profile) and of each chiller (at-least Five
set of readings at time interval 1 hour each), with conscise and clear notes on
factors leading to deviation from design.
b. Collect the logbook details Jan 2019- Till date (4 days per month and six
reading per day as per data sheet).
c. Collect monthly operating hours and energy consumption for chillers during
above period
d. Measure and establish existing performance and efficiency levels of the
pumps and cooling tower (instantaneous), with conscise and clear notes on
factors leading to deviation from design.
e. Measure and establish existing performance and efficiency levels of the
pumps and cooling tower (instantaneous), with conscise and clear notes on
factors leading to deviation from design.
f. Measure air flow, temperature, Rh and other parameters mentioned in the data
collection sheet. Measurements will be done on instantanoius / short period
measurements only. If AHU operating with VFDs
B. STP/WTPWater: Measure operating parameters of pumps and blowers and evaluate
the operating performance. Collection of water parameters from pant data.
C. Lighting: Collect the lighting fixtures, details and operating hours and measure the
lux levels on sample basis
D. Fans: Collect the details of ceiling fans and exhaust fans as per shared sheet
E. Boiler- Data collection and intantanoius measurement as per data sheet
F. Laundry- Data collection and intantanoius measurement as per data sheet
G. Stand alone ACs/ FCus- Data collection and intantanoius measurement as per data
sheet

3. Savings: Scope is limited to sharing the details in the shared data sheet only
4. BMS: Evaluate existing BMS (if any) in terms of coverage and existing functionality. Prepare
IO summary and instrumentation BOQ for full chiller plant room and low side automation.
5. O&M: Summarize existing Standar Operating Procedures and Standard Maintenance
Procedures followed by the sites relevant to the air conditioning systems and suggest edits /
improvements in the same to optimize energy.
6. Support: Collect the following from site and include in the final submissions:
a. Layout drawings of chiller plant room
b. Layout drawings / floor plans of the buildings’ low side AC system
c. Standard Operating Procedures and Maintenance Practices
d. Complete air conditioning asset list with design specifications
7. Exclusions, assumptions and support required:
a. Water testing is under client scope/with additional cost
b. In case absence of provisions for measurement in any of the systems/if it is un safe to
performa measurement we will consider best possible alternative meathods
c. Additional support of facility electrical and mechanical person is required during the
fieldwork. Opening of panels and supporting the electrical connection to ensure
safety, removal and fixing back of pressure gauges, insulation, thermocouples etc be
at client scope
d. SJPL has to coordinate with client for getting the data
e. Design details and other details required shall share in advance before starting field
work.
f. We will start field work in two weeks from date of purchase order and advance.
g. Any addition of scope will be charged at extra cost
