A Cosmic Disturbance

I t was always sunny and warm around the village. The hills, the river, and the forest, were all places that
you would gladly visit for a walk or even a picnic. It was always calm and peaceful. Until the incident.
"Ah yes, the incident!" would be the response of anyone if you were to ask them what the incident is. That
is as much as they would tell you though, as nobody was willing to share more, mostly in fear of what
could happen to them if they did. Nobody understood it and nobody dared to try. Except for one person.
One, curious, halfling.
His name was Yarfer Smokehead and he was the most interesting person in his town. Others would describe
him as weird. What really made him stand out though, was his curiosity. He loved discovering and inventing new
things. His wife hated him discovering and inventing new things. They both loved each other though, very, very
much.
Naturally, as everyone sort of expected, one day Yarfer did not return home at the end of the day. His wife, Leeni,
stayed up all night, looking out the window, hoping Yarfer would show his ugly mug in the distance so that she
may scold him for once again making her worry. This was not like other nights though. This night, was different.
The sun set and rose and Yarfer was, still, nowhere to be seen. Leeni, was losing it. She tried not to think what
horrible things could have happened to Yarfer. She gathered whatever gold she had saved and went out, hoping to
find someone that would be brave enough to go into the woods and find her lost husband. "Oh how cliche..." she
thought to herself, but her heart beat fast, as she approached a group of adventurers...
"Uhm... hello. Can I bother you for just a second? I need your help..."

to the GM to decide how long it will take for them to get back

The Void Beckons
The final encounter happens at the last piece of land where
the party will notice a glowing dark purple stone. As soon
as they step on the northern piece of land a Lesser Void
Elemental will spawn (2. on map).
After 3 turns of combat with the Lesser Void Elemental
pass, there will be beams of light shining from the far reaches
of space onto the platform at random locations on it, covering
5ft. squares. It is up to the GM to decide where those beams
will be placed and how many of them there are. Those are
beams of Starlight and the explanation behind them is that
some celestial beings have sensed the spawn of Void
corruption in the Astral Plane, so they are trying to destroy it.
When the Void Elemental passes through a Beam of
Starlight, it takes 1d8 force damage. This counts as a
Starlight spell for the purposes of weakness and resistance
values.
Once the Elemental is defeated, the players can take the
stone from the ground.
Lesser Void Stone
The stone fills an average-sized creature's palm and it
radiates with a dark purple glow. Whoever is holding
it, can feel a certain kind of power emanating from
the stone.
Use: With the help of a blacksmith, the stone can
be used to imbue an armor piece or weapon with the
powers of the void. Refer to the Void Corruption
table for more information.
