6) Complaint:
My sister was admitted in Calcutta hospital for the treatment of pancreas which had
been inflated due to unusual eating habits. She had been admitted under the
supervision of Doctor Verma who is a renowned doctor and a surgeon. She had been
admitted to the hospital under the guidance and prescription of Doctor Verma who
had assured a speedy recovery of my sister.
Doctor verma upon observation decided to operate my sister and gave us assurance
that the patient would recover soon. After a second opinion we decided to go with
the surgery that doctor verma had advised to us.
During the operation doctor verma operated the pancreas and without the prior
permission of the patient or our family member’s, doctor verma removed one of the
kidneys of my sister which led to her death.
The doctor escaped the hospital from the back gate without giving any reasons for
his negligent act which led to this culpable homicide under section 304 of Indian
penal code.
I would request the police to kindly investigate this matter and take strict actions in
the aforesaid matter .
