What is CRED APP?
CRED is an online payments app that's linked to your credit cards. The app has been made by
Kunal Shah, the founder of the company FreeCharge. The CRED App aims to make using your
credit cards earlier and automated.
The app also offers many rewards for using in the form of CRED coins, which can be redeemed
for cash or offers. However, not everyone is eligible to use the CRED app. The CRED app only
accepts users who have a credit score above 750.
The app checks your credit score through your phone number which is connected to your bank
account. If you do not qualify for entry into the app, you are put on a waitlist.
You can also use the CRED App to make payments via debit cards, UPI or CRED Cash balance.
When users make payments with the CRED App using their credit cards, the users are rewarded
with CRED coins. Users can use the CRED points to get discounts on online shopping, booking
tickets, making payments etc.
The app tracks all of your credit card activity and
spending pattern and sends the users reports. The app
also informs users about any unexpected fees or charges
that have been charged to your credit card.
Additionally, the CRED app also notifies users about any
upcoming payments. CRED is a good app to keep track
of your credit card expenses.
Analysis
Target Audience
Cred, since its launch In 2017, has 3 Million plus users already on their platform.
So the target audience was small in number. These people had high disposable income and could
be good cross-sell opportunities. Kunal planned to enable this community with convenience and
reward them for good behavior. He created an app with inCREDible experience, which allowed
users to pay credit card bills and reward them in return.

Analysis
Message
The platform aims to amplify its messaging of how easy it is to manage timely credit card
payments through the app and also getting regularly rewarded for good financial behaviour. In
the film, Kapoor will bring home the message of paying credit card bills on time in his unique,
inimitable style. The films feature Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor along with other celebrities from
the 90s, to entertain and spread CRED’s message.

Appeal
The ad influence people by ads starring iconic celebrities from the 90s are being hailed on social
media as one of the best ads of an otherwise tepid IPL season in terms of advertising. Eg. The

Mode Of Publicity
Credit card payment platform CRED, which is an official partner of Dream11 IPL, seems to have
ticked all the right boxes in terms of its IPL advertising debut. The ads starring iconic celebrities
from the 90s are being hailed on social media as one of the best ads of an otherwise tepid IPL
season in terms of advertising. The financial services startup was trending on Twitter for its
campaign.
CRED, the digital platform for credit card users, has come on board as the official partner of
the Indian Premier League 2020. CRED managed to strike a three-season IPL deal this year that will
run through the 2022 season of the property.
