19-24524 GEOLOGY
ACTIVITY 15
1. List down below the different method of site investigation and field investigation method.
Site Investigation
Method:
LINEAR INVESTIGATION

Advantage:
Most in situ studies are of this type. If the columns are fairly close together, a
reasonably accurate interpretation of the geology can be made.

Disadvantage:
Method:
AREAL INVESTIGATION

Advantage:
It provides two-dimensional study of the ground and its geological make-up. The
areas involved may be exposed on either vertical or horizontal surfaces.

Disadvantage:
Method:
VOLUMETRIC INVESTIGATION

Advantage:
The ground to be explored can be can be considered as either continuous or
discontinuous material, depending on the volume that is tested.

Disadvantage:
Method:
FILED RECONNAISSANCE

Advantage:
Index tests are simple tests conducted in the field that provide an index of the
geotechnical properties of rocks and soil.

Disadvantage:
Most cost-effective components of ground investigation.
2. Make an infograph model that shows the step-by-step method of a site investigation starting
from desk until choosing a method of site exploration technique
