Getting Started
The ED64 is a cartridge designed to aid development of homebrew applications. It
imitates a real cartridge for this purpose.
REGION SWITCH
Note: the X7 manages this automatically and does not contain a switch.
Note: Older devices may not contain a switch if they do not contain an UltraCIC as the
region is set based on the inserted CIC.
The ED64 needs to be set to the same region as the N64 Console hardware in order to
work, this can be achieved by setting the switch located inside the edge of the SD card
port

SAVING A GAME
Cartridge Revisions 2.0 and 2.5 require the “RESET” button pressing allowing the system
to return to the main menu before powering off the console so that save data is
transferred to a file. Later revisions use a battery backup so this step is not required apart
from when 64DD cartridge conversions are used.
