Essential Knowledge/Question(s):
Does the shape of an object affect its rate of fall through a liquid?

Challenge:
Your Challenge is to produce 4 shapes using plasticine and investigate which of the shapes takes longest to fall and
therefore demonstrates the most air resistance.
In your group, ensure everyone knows what their job is and what it entails. Decide which shapes you will make.
You will need to ensure :
 All the shapes will be the same weight.
 Each shape is dropped from the same height
 The level of oil is the same each time.
 The same timer is used
 Your results are recorded in an appropriate form.
Your group will present your results at the end of the challenge in a brief presentation.

Product Criteria (Rule, form & Content):


Rule
Each person must work to meet the needs of the role they have chosen.
Presentation should last no longer than 2 minutes.
Form
Criteria for investigation must be the same each time
Content
Presentation must include the correct terminology e.g. air resistance, height, level, speed, time.
