Behavioral Remarketing System Email Klaviyo ConfigurationV1.2
Step 1: Sign up for a free account on Klaviyo if you don’t already have one. Here is our Klaviyo Partner
link.
Step 2: Go through the Setup Wizard to quickly link Klaviyo to your store. (Note: these pages that
follow start directly after signing up for an account).
I usually skip this step even if I am planning to bring in my list from another service provider.
Once you have gone through the Setup Wizard, you will be taken to your dashboard. Klaviyo preloads
some Flows, Segments, and Templates. Your dashboard should look like this.
In Shopify (or other ecommerce platform) you should see the Klaviyo app installed.
In Klaviyo under “Integrations” you will see your Shopify store has been integrated. Note: This is also
where you go to integrate your Facebook Ads Platform.
To finish the integration you will want to add some tracking code to your Shopify theme files. Go to your
Klaviyo Account dropdown (top right) and select “Setup Web Tracking”
You will want to follow the directions above each code snippet in order to add these to your Theme
files.
Here is where you add it in Shopify. (Note this might vary based on your theme but should be similar.)
Create a new API Key for EVERY 3rd Party App…DO NOT REUSE!
That’s it! Once you add that API Key to the 3rd Party App it should be integrated with Klaviyo. You will
choose lists from within the 3rd Party App (not at Klaviyo).
2 – Engaged
Note: This segment is looking for recent subscribers or someone adding themselves to a new list (last 60
days) who have opened an email at least once in the last 120 days.
3 – Inactive
Note: This segment is looking for subscribers in all lists that were added more than 24 Weeks ago and
have NEVER opened ANY emails. These subscribers should either get one last campaign to win them
over or they should be cleansed from the account.
4 – Subscribers (Non-Buyers)
Note: This segment is looking through all lists and finding the Non-Buyers over all time.
5 – Subscribed Customers
Note: This segment is looking through all the lists to find all people who have purchased at least once.
