1. Description
AD420 is a vegetable-based tack reducer for conventional offset oxidative drying inks (DAIMETAL, TOBA and
DAIFLEX series). The appearance is a slightly yellow transparent paste.

2. Applications
The addition of 2%-4% of the additive reduces picking and tack of the ink. Especially appropriate when starting
the press and the rollers and general temperature of the printing equipment is still cold. As well it is very useful
avoiding picking of light substrates like aluminium and thin tinplate.
Supplied in 2 kilo tins.

3. General Handling
3.1 Storage
AD420 is not flammable.
Shelf life: 24 months.
For unopened Tins, stored in dry conditions at 5-25ºC.

.2 Waste disposal
Care should be exercised in the disposal of printing ink waste. This should be carried out in accordance with good
industrial practice, observing all the appropriate regulations and guidelines. For more specific handling advice
refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).

All Sun Chemical products are formulated to the latest version of the CEPE/ EuPIA Exclusion List. List This excludes
the use of a) substances classified for Acute Toxicity category 1, 2 or 3; b) substances classified for carcinogenity,
germ cell mutagenicity and reproductive toxicant category 1A and 1B or STOT SE1 or STOT RE1, according to the
CLP Regulation (EC) nº 1272/2008. The use of pigments based on compounds of Sb, As, Cd, Cr (VI), Pb, Hg, Se,
the use of certain dyes, solvents, plasticisers and miscellaneous materials are also excluded. A copy of the

Combination of Sun Chemical products with products from other manufacturers may affect the suitability of the
Sun Chemical product for specific end uses and/or applications. It is advised that in such circumstances the user
undertakes a detailed risk assessment to ensure that safety is not compromised.
Sun Chemical’s products intended for the EU market do not contain any known amounts of substances of very
high concern (SVHCs) at more than 0.1%*, which could be subjected to potential future authorisation process (as
outlined in REACH Art 56). (*or the lowest concentration limit specified in Part 3 of Annex VI to Regulation (EC) No
1272/2008 which results in the classification as a SVHC).

The printer, converter and the packer or filler entity have the legal responsibility to ensure that the finished article
is fit for the intended purpose(s) and that the ink and coating components do not migrate into the food at levels
that exceed legal and industry requirements as outlined in the EU Framework Regulation (EC) Nº 1935/2004 and
the GMP Regulation (EC) Nº 2023/2006 and for film applications the Plastics European Regulation nº 10/2011.
We recommend that the finished packaging is tested under appropriate representative conditions of use if there
are any doubts regarding compliance.
