Direction: Toxic or positive? Assess your school’s culture by checking the right statement for
your school.

Direction: Answer the following Essay questions briefly and submit 2 days before Saturday.
1. How can you change a toxic school culture?
Answer:
I can change a toxic culture in a way that I should educate them first what is the school
culture means and how important it is to develop one person’s behavior. And I believe being a
toxic is a choice, in order to avoid it we should prioritize the good effect on it in all individuals.

2. What do you think are the major reasons why a school culture becomes toxic?
Explain. 
Answer:
The major reasons why it’s becomes toxic is that, school culture is forgotten or students
or even teachers did not give importance or notice that is why they are doing the opposite way
of living. And also when the school organization itself didn’t educate the students about how
important school culture is.

3. Is a positive school culture really do important in the teaching profession? Why?


Answer:
I believe yes, because having a school culture that really followed by one organization it
results in a good way of teaching especially to the relationship of the teachers and the students.
Teaching profession is not all about being a teaching what you learned but it’s also about
boosting students’ confidence and help them to become best version of themselves.

III. Application/Activity:

Direction: Which is your school’s favorite? Choose only one among the eight (8) attributes of effective
schools according to Deal (1985) that is the most prominent in your school? Elaborate your answer by
giving examples.

Answer:

The principal as a hero or heroine who embodies core values. This is one of my school’s
favorite, because principal is the one who control or lead the school organization to make it in a better
function. For example, by reminding students how important core values is, and making sure that
students are well disciplined especially if we are having an event. They encourage us to participate and
believe on ourselves.

Direction: Pledge to be part of a positive school culture. Write an essay about your little steps on how
you will impose positive culture within your school.

Answer:

The first step that I will do to impose a positive culture within my school is that, I should study
first what will happen if I impose that culture, and I believe that it is more accurate to impose a positive
culture based on my experiences or real circumstances in that way students will elate and apply it on
their selves. A healthy school environment and positive culture is one where people are appreciated,
cared about and remembered. Such an environment leads to productive teaching and learning and to
genuine contact, both inside and outside the classroom.

1. How can you say that a certain school culture is positive?

Answer:

I can say that a certain school culture is positive in a way that school organization have a healthy
environment and most of the students are achiever, well-mannered and happy. And having a positive
school culture makes teachers love to teach while the students love to learned, and most importantly
they respect and have a strong relationship to one another.

2. What do you think is the attribute that best contributes to the effectiveness of a positive
school culture?

Answer:

I think the attribute that best contributes to the effectiveness of a positive school culture is that
it creates a healthy, welcoming, inspiring, inviting and demanding atmosphere for students and
teachers, which in turn encourages student achievement to grow. Interventions and methods to build a
healthy school community will be acknowledged and addressed.

3. Why is it important for a school to have a positive school culture?

Answer:

Positive school culture is really important because it facilitates greater cooperation and
competitiveness, increases collegial engagement, promotes active change and development activities,
builds loyalty and association of students and teachers with the school, and strengthens the vitality and
enthusiasm of staff and students. School culture is also one main reason why school was successful.
