Polls open in New York City, New

Jersey as early voting begins


Voters are heading to the polls Saturday for early voting in both New York City
and for the first time ever, in New Jersey as well.

Polling sites in New York City opened at 8 a.m. while early voting in New
Jersey begins at 10 a.m.

In the race for New Jersey governor, it's incumbent democratic Governor Phil
Murphy against republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli.

Former President Barack Obama will be in Newark Saturday stumping for


Gov. Murphy.

In New York City voters will decide who will become the next mayor, with
democrat Eric Adams going up against republican Curtis Sliwa. WABC-TV will
co-host the second and final debate for the New York City mayoral race
between democrat Eric Adams and republican Curtis Sliwa on Tuesday,

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Early voting begins Saturday in New York City,
offering voters nine days to cast their ballots prior to Election Day.

The early voting period runs from Saturday, October 23 to Sunday, October 31
ahead of the November 2 general election. CLICK HERE to find your
pollsite, its hours, and to view a sample ballot.

New Yorkers will be voting on the city's next mayor, public advocate,
comptroller, borough presidents, city councilmembers, and ballot proposals.
Some voters will also be deciding on county and state offices and special

All New Yorkers can also vote by mail. To do so, you must request an absentee
ballot from the NYC Board of Elections. CLICK HERE to learn how to

Voters can also cast their ballots in person on General Election Day, Tuesday,
November 2. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. It's also the last day to
postmark your absentee ballot or drop it off at a poll site. CLICK HERE to
