orientation for SY 2020-2021.

To formally start, may I request everyone to have a moment of silence

for our opening prayer.

Let us put ourselves in the holy presence of God.

PRAYER

Lord, thank you for allowing us to gather virtually today for this career
guidance orientation.

We thank you for all the blessings and happiness you have bestowed on
us.

We pray that you send your Holy Spirit to guide us in this undertaking.

Help us to engage in a meaningful discussion and fill us with your grace,

Lord God, as we make decisions that might affect the students, faculty
and all other concerned.

Let us be reminded that all things we do should be according to your

Will.

And may You continue to remind us that all that we do here today, all
that we accomplish is for the pursuit of truth for the greater glory of
Your name and for the service of humanity.

All these we ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Once again, good afternoon teachers. Welcome to our Career Guidance

Orientation.

At this point, for the presentation of participants may I request the grade
leaders to do the honor to give us an update of the number of attendees
per grade level.
Thank you so much teachers. I hope and pray that you are all safe and
sound while attending this activity.

Without further adieu, let’s start with our first topic for this orientation.
To discuss about the guidelines, procedures and implementation of
Career Guidance Program, please help me welcome Maam Mae
Famulagan our SHS guidance counselor.

SLIDE 1:

So what is career guidance and why do we need to conduct a career

guidance orientation?

So, we need to conduct this orientation to our students for them to be

prepared and have a greater understanding of educational
and career opportunities, and for them to be assisted in making a
meaningful and informed career choices.

For this year, all career guidance orientations shall be held online or
through other modalities compliant to the health and safety standards of
Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).

SLIDE 2:

LAST FEBRUARY 11, 2021, THE CENTRAL OFFICE – FROM THE BUREAU
OF CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SEAMEO
INNOTECH CONDUCTED A NATIONAL ORIENTATION ON CAREER
GUIDANCE PROGRAM FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2020-2021.. So mao ni among
unang giaatenan nga orientation last February.

SLIDE 3:
Last March 1, we also attended an Orientation on Portfolio and other
forms of Assessment as basis for Career Development which was lead by
the division’s office.

SLIDE 4:
Now, please take note that on April 6, 2021, at around 9:30 am to 12:00
noon, there will be an Orientation for the Grade 10 Learners and Parents
on the different Senior High School Tracks and Strands.

This activity is very important because before modecide ang student

what track and strand ilang pillion in SHS, they need to reflect first on
their ambitions, interests, qualifications and abilities kung motakdo ba
ilang abilidad sa strand nga ilang pilion. So, again, to all grade 10
advisers, please take note of the date and time so that we can inform our
students ahead of time regarding this orientation.

This will be led by the guidance office in partnership with the DMDP. Our
target audience are the grade 10 learners and parents. But we are
requesting the presence of all grade 10 advisers during this orientation.

SLIDE 5:
Lastly, on March 30, 2021 at 9:30 am to 12:00 noon, there will be an
Orientation for the Grade 12 Learners on the different Curriculum Exits
which are: Tertiary Education, Employment Readiness, Entrepreneurial
Skills, and the Middle Level Skills Development Orientation.

So this activity is very important because it will give our students an

awareness that after they graduate from SHS, they can choose to 1) be
employed, 2) start their own business, 3) go to college, or 4) get higher
certification to develop more specialized skills.

This will be led again by the guidance office in partnership with the
DMDP. Our target audience are the grade 12 learners. And we are also
requesting the presence of all grade 12 advisers during this orientation.
