Abstract
Pandemic Covid 19 causes schools to require online learning which has an impact on children's motivation
to take part in learning. To increase the willingness of children to continue learning, efforts have been made from
the government. However, there are still many children who are less motivated to participate in online learning,
especially in Kembes 1 Village, Minahasa Regency. Parents are the biggest influence during learning during this
pandemic because children are required to study at home. For this reason, this study aims to determine the
relationship between the role of parents and the motivation of elementary school children to participate in online
learning during thepandemic COVID-19 in Kembes 1 Village, Minahasa Regency. This research method is analytic
withapproach cross sectional. Respondents in this study were parents with elementary school-aged children in
Kembes 1 Village, Minahsa Regency as many as 85 people were obtained using theformula Lemeshow with a 95%
confidence level.
