Contextualization refers to the educational process of


relating the curriculum to a particular setting, situation or area of
application to make the competencies relevant, meaningful and
useful to all learners. Contextualization in MAPEH refers to
teaching Music, Arts, P.E and Health in real-life situations. It is one
of the keys of engaging the pupils in teaching-learning process
wherein pupils can relate their situations on their lessons. Music,
Arts, P.E and Health abbreviated as MAPEH , is one of the learning
areas of the Elementary Education all over the Philippines….Yes, it
Rationale
is, because it is connected to our statistical skills and its four main
components (Music, Arts, P.E, and Health) are related to our daily
lives. Different programs and projects were implemented by the
Department of Education to address pressing needs of pupils
concerning MAPEH. This Three-Day District -Based Live-Out
Training on the Enhancement of Contextualized Learning
Resources in MAPEH is one of those. This will make MAPEH
lessons meaningful and relevant to pupils’ lives by relating the
pupils’ context to MAPEH content taught in school.
