FST511 HUMAN NUTRITION

SULAM

AIM
At the end of this activity, student should be able to:
1. conduct a nutrition related program with target community
2. produce nutrition promotion/education tools suitable for target community
3. collaborate with team members to produce nutrition related project
4. demonstrate management skill in the development of nutritional related program

Community Based Program


1. Student need to form a group of 5 max.
2. Identify target community and their concern on human nutrition issue.
3. State objectives that you want to achieve for the mini project.
4. Conduct pre-intervention survey on level of knowledge of target community on
selected topic.
5. Submit the activity plan in gantt chart format, allocate time wisely to achieve dateline.
6. Divide task accordingly among team members.
7. Outline the concept and content of the tools used for your mini project.
8. Produce the prototype of your nutrition education tools.
9. Submit to lecturer for content validation.
10. Publish and promote the nutrition promotion/education tools using social media to get
feedback from target community.
11. Conduct post-intervention survey on level of knowledge of target community on
selected topic.
12. Analyse feedback given by target community.
13. Write a report (group basis) – format provided in separate file. Generally content
included 1) introduction and justification on chosen topic 2) explain about selected
target community background and their concern on healthy eating practices 3)
important message in nutrition education/promotion tools 4) feedback given by the
selected community on content (what they like/dislike about it, how does the tools
used benefit them in practicing healthy lifestyle). 5) Reflect on your experience before,
during and after the SULAM activity (what worked and what not, what can be done
differently) and 6) include the impact on personal soft-skill development. 4) Explain
how this SULAM activity change your personal value and motivate to make
difference/give impact on chosen community. 7) Detail out the time spent to
accomplish this project by breaking down each task and time allocated.

REPORT STYLE
1. use font 11 Arial/Century Gothic
2. include table of contents
3. pages must be numbered (centre, bottom of page)
4. tables/figures should be numbered accordingly
5. attached report with the nutrition education/promotion tools
6. reference should include journal articles and list in alphabetical order. Commercial
websites are not acceptable, except for government or university sources. Plagiarism
or cheating in any form will not be tolerated. All sources used should be properly cited.
