Introduction

Every corporation has its own story to tell. The context in which teaching and learning takes place influences the processes and procedures
by which the corporation makes decisions around curriculum, instruction, and assessment. The context also impacts the way a corporation
stays faithful to its vision. Many factors contribute to the overall narrative such as an identification of stakeholders, a description of
stakeholder engagement, the trends and issues affecting the corporation, and the kinds of programs and services that a corporation
implements to support student learning.

The purpose of the Executive Summary (ES) is to provide a corporation with an
opportunity to describe in narrative form the strengths and challenges it encounters. By doing so, the public and members of the community
will have a more complete picture of how the corporation perceives itself and the process of self-reflection for continuous improvement. This
summary is structured for the corporation to reflect on how it provides teaching and learning on a day to day basis.

Description of the Corporation

Describe the corporation's size, community/communities, location, and changes it has experienced in the last three years. Include
demographic information about the students, staff, and community at large. What unique features and challenges are associated
with the community/communities the corporation serves?

In 2010, four educators partnered to create S.M.A.R.T. Management, an affiliate of Smart Starts Day School, which has a proven track-
record of success in developing high performing schools and nurturing high performing learners. S.M.A.R.T. Management is an Education
Service Provider (ESP) that is managed by its founders - Alexander Garcia, Virginia Vazquez Garcia, Juan Carlos Quintana, and Trudy
Cedeno Quintana. The Central Office for S.M.A.R.T. Management is located in Miami, Florida. Over the last four years, the organization
has experienced rapid growth in the number of schools it manages. It currently manages seven schools located within three of the largest
urban school districts in Florida.

Five of the schools are located in Miami-Dade County, the most southeastern county on the United States mainland. Miami-Dade is the most
populated county in Florida. It is also home to the largest school district in Florida and the fourth largest school district in the United States,
comprised of 435 traditional schools and 125 charter schools. Located at the southern end of the Florida peninsula, the school district
stretches over 2,000 square miles of diverse and vibrant communities ranging from rural and suburban to urban cities and municipalities.
The 353,790 students served by the Miami-Dade County Public School System speak over 56 languages and represent 160 countries. The
schools managed by S.M.A.R.T. Management are located in the Coconut Grove, West Miami, Kendall, and Downtown communities in
Miami-Dade County. The campuses located in Miami-Dade are easily identifiable by name as follows: BridgePrep Academy South,
BridgePrep Academy Greater Miami, BridgePrep Academy Village Green; BridgePrep Academy Interamerican, and Academy of Arts and
Minds.

In 2014, S.M.A.R.T. Management expanded its educational model to reach additional students with the opening of two new schools in
August 2014. One of the schools, BridgePrep Academy of Hollywood, is located in the Hollywood Hills area of Broward County. Broward
County borders Miami-Dade County to the north. It is home to the second largest district in Florida and the sixth largest school district in the
United States serving over 262,563 students in 238 traditional public schools. The number of charter schools approved for operation by the
Broward County School District has increased to 102 charter schools approved for operation in 2014. S.M.A.R.T. Management also opened
BridgePrep Academy Tampa, a new campus in Hillsborough County, which is located on the west coast of central Florida. Hillsborough is
the third largest county in Florida and home to the eighth largest school district in the United States. Hillsborough County Public Schools
consists of 278 schools; 172 elementary schools, 43 middle schools, 3 K-8 schools, 27 traditional high schools and 16 career centers, 7
alternative, 11 ESE centers and 46 Charter School.

BridgePrep Academy provides an enriched academic curriculum in a positive, nurturing environment that builds self-esteem and sets high
expectations for both students and teachers. BridgePrep offers a unique educational program designed to be serve students in grades K-8th
by offering an extended day foreign language Spanish program that enhances academic success and creates opportunities for students to
become bilingual and bi-literate. The program provides a curriculum and learning environment that promotes positive attitudes toward both
languages (Spanish and English) and supports full bilingual proficiency for both native and non-native Spanish speakers for students in
Kindergarten through 8th grade. The curriculum framework places emphasis on reading, writing, science, and mathematics which is applied
to its Spanish language program. Among the many benefits of learning a second language is that it enriches and enhances a child's mental
development and has a positive effect on intellectual growth. Students develop increased flexibility in thinking, greater sensitivity to language,
and a better ear for listening. It improves a child's understanding of his/her native language, opens the door to other cultures, and helps a

child understand and appreciate people from other countries. The overarching goal of this educational model is to enhance students'
academic success while instilling a sense of pride in being bilingual.
In addition to the extended foreign language program, S.M.A.R.T. Management has several unique features within its educational program
which separate it from other institutions. BridgePrep Academy has initiated a "STEAM" Program that is designed to provide students with a
rigorous, hands-on, standards-based curriculum in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics. The
curriculum addresses multiple intelligences and individual learning styles to meet the diverse needs in the 21st century. Students are
challenged with project-based activities and real world connections and practitioners throughout each academic phase. The curriculum
places emphasis on Science and Technology, incorporated through Engineering and the Arts, all based in Mathematical elements. The
scope and sequence are aligned to the strands, technical programs and industry certifications offered at the high school level. Visual and
performing arts are integrated into all areas of the curriculum. Art activities reinforce the exploration of various cultures and provide students
an opportunity to explore their own cultural heritage. The school presents shows and displays for parents and community members to
celebrate the community's rich cultural diversity. Students' use of these art forms is encouraged as means to discover, enhance and
demonstrate mastery of other core subject standards. As part of the new STEAM initiative this year, schools have enhanced their Arts
program and incorporated new facets of the arts across the curriculum.

Additionally, all schools are equipped with instructional technology to enhance the learning environment. All classrooms are equipped with a
minimum of two computers and high speed internet access. In addition, all schools are equipped with a mobile computer lab that travels to
rooms on a scheduled basis. Every classroom has a Promethean Board and Smart instructional technology resources to enhance the
teaching and learning process. Students utilize instructional technology throughout the school day as well as online software, which may be
used at home at no cost to the students. Some of the instructional technology resources used by the school to supplement the reading,
mathematics, and science core series include the following: Achieve 3000 (grades K-8); Ticket to Read (grades K-2); IStation (grades K-12);
Khan Academy(grades K-12); River Deep (grades K-8); Discovery Learning (grades K-12); Explore Learning Gizmos (grades 3-12); Reading
Plus (grades 9-12).

Over the course of its existence, the schools managed by S.M.A.R.T. Management have maintained a consistent number of students
enrolled at all schools. Currently, a total of 1,844 students are enrolled at the eight schools managed by SMART Management. The student
demographics are reflective of the communities served with 21% White, 7 % African American, 72 % Hispanic, and 3% Multiracial, and 1%
Other. Approximately 45% of the student population served is economically disadvantaged based on the number of students who are eligible
to receive free or reduced lunch. English Language Learners (ELL) comprise 30 % of the total student body while 7 % consists of Students
with Disabilities (SWD). The students are served by a dedicated team of administrators, instructional personnel, and support staff who reflect
the demographics of the student body. Organizational leadership consists of Governing Boards who oversee the operations that are
managed by S.M.A.R.T. Management. There is a Governing Board for BridgePrep Academy schools of Miami-Dade and Broward; there is a
separate Governing Board for BridgePrep of Tampa; and there is a separate Governing Board for the Academy of Arts & Minds in Miami-
Dade. The S.M.A.R.T. Management organization has administrative personnel that oversee compliance, curriculum and facilities. There are
seven Principals and four Assistant Principals who oversee the daily operations at each of the seven school locations. Among all the
schools, there are 132 Instructional Staff members whose demographics are reflective of the student populations served with 16 % White, 9
% African American, 71 % Hispanic, and 4 % Multiracial/Other. Senior Management has been stable with zero turnovers in key management
positions.

Due to its rapid growth since its inception in 2010, S.M.A.R.T. Management has implemented new structures and systems for managing its
operations in an effective and efficient manner. In order to maintain and promote a high performing and sustainable organization, an upper
management leadership team was established in 2013 in an effort to establish systemic procedures and protocols across the organization in
the areas of Curriculum and Instruction, School Operations and Facilities, and School Accountability and Compliance. The team was
expanded in 2014 with the addition of new management staff and curriculum support personnel, and the organization was improved through

Notable Achievements and Areas of Improvement

Describe the corporation's notable achievements and areas of improvement in the last three years. Additionally, describe areas for
improvement that the corporation is striving to achieve in the next three years.

Setting high expectations has resulted in notable achievements for S.M.A.R.T. Management's existing BridgePrep Academy campuses in
Miami-Dade County. The South campus, the initial school which opened in 2010, has maintained an "A" school grade for three consecutive
years. In 2014, the school received recognition as a "High Performing School" from the Florida Department of Education. The Village Green
campus earned an "A" school grade in 2014, the first year that it met school accountability criteria to earn a letter grade. Increased student
achievement and a lot of hard work have resulted in improved school grades at two other campuses in Miami-Dade. Greater Miami improved
from a "C" in 2013 to a "B" in 2014; and Interamerican improved from an "F" in 2013 (during its first year of operation) to a "B" in 2014. It is
expected that the new campuses that recently contracted with S.M.A.R.T. Management-- Academy of Art & Minds (currently a "C"),
BridgePrep Academy of Hollywood (New School), and BridgePrep Academy of Tampa (New School)--will experience similar academic
successes in the future.

Several additional achievements since the inception of S.M.A.R.T. Management have been an acquisition of three new schools in 2014-2015
in Miami Dade County, Broward and Hillsborough County for a total of seven campuses. In addition, there has been an expansion of our
Greater Miami Campus with an additional six classrooms to accommodate the additional student enrollment. Additionally, four additional
kindergarten classrooms have been added at a new facility for BridgePrep South to meet the enrollment demands. For the 2015-2016 the
organization also has planned two additional school facility expansions to maximize enrollment and expansion of grade levels from K-5 to K-8
for the campus of Village Green through the acquisition of a new building. The Hollywood Hills campus will also increase from a K-5 center to
a K-8 center. With the support of our founding Governing Board, management company staff, and existing schools, the network of schools
managed by S.M.A.R.T. Management will continue to grow and offer high quality schools that prepare students for secondary school, college
and careers.

In the last three years, a vision has emerged through the collaboration of the Governing Boards, senior management, school site leaders,
instructional personnel, staff, and the community to identify distinct areas for growth and improvement to S.M.A.R.T. Management schools.
To this end, it was the consensus of the governing boards, the S.M.A.R.T. Management leadership team, and school administrators that a
District Strategic Plan would be developed in order to focus on four key areas for improvement: student achievement, human resources,
financial management, and safety/security. The goals the organization will strive to attain in the next three years are stated below.

Student Achievement
-Goal 1: Students in grades K- 12 will increase proficiency in reading, writing, mathematics and science.
-Goal 2: School leaders will challenge, motivate and support all students with an approved curriculum which is aligned to the Florida
Standards and will prepare students for college and career readiness.
Human Resources
-Goal 1: The organization will attract and retain highly qualified staff.
-Goal 2: The organization will utilize a comprehensive evaluation system for administrators and instructional personnel designed to support
effective instruction and student learning growth.

Financial Management
-Goal 1: The organization will align financial resources to support its strategic goals.
