Catcher (Student-Designed Project) Rubric

Visual component – well-crafted, neat, attractive, creative, thoughtful, self-explanatory (or with written
component/performance component). Conveys significance of the topic/theme/issue in the text. Exhibits new and
interesting perspective on topic. Enhances written component, artistic, captures something symbolically that mere
writing could not do alone; evidence of forethought and care.

Written component – neat, well-written, analytical, descriptive/explanatory of visual, goes beyond description or
superficial analysis, appropriate diction and tone, provides enough explanation that the project in toto could stand alone.
