CLC 12 - Capstone Project Draft Proposal
CLC 12 - Capstone Project Draft Proposal
Proposed title for my Project Proposal: (write the proposed title for your Capstone Project in one clear
sentence): ________street stories I like the title...very catchy and intriguing ________________________
What is your inquiry question that interests you for further research? It should be a question that
connects with a purpose, passion or personalized area of interest for you. This is a question that you cannot
just google an answer for. Please see examples from your Capstone booklet.
How can I publish my photos? Do you mean “How can I get my photos published?”
Can I take photos without asking permission?
Any tips for photoshop and lightroom? “How can I improve my skill with using Photoshop and Lightroom?”
How can photos be more interesting “What techniques can I use with my photography to make them more
interesting?”
**We will need to form these ideas into a cohesive Inquiry question.**
Rationale/context: Detail your reasons for choosing this inquiry question. Explain WHY you are choosing to
investigate this topic as a major area of focus. How does this area of inquiry connect to your passion(s),
purpose? Why is it of personal interest to you?
I am really obsessed with graphic design, which is related to photography. I decided to do something related to
graphic design, as well have the possibility to improve.
Background: What background knowledge/connections/prior learning do you have in this area of inquiry?
I partially know how to edit photos through photoshop/lightroom, I know how to use a camera, and I know
how to make photos interesting by adding some details.
Career connections: What is your intended career area at this point in time? What connections does this
inquiry question have to your life, academic and/ or career goals?
I like doing graphic design, and I want to pursue graphic design courses. Photography is related to graphic design
because they both use the same tool, similar applied and required skills, and I can use my photos as a portfolio
for post-secondary too.
Interdisciplinary and core competencies connections: What subject areas and core competencies will
be connected with your project? Outline and explain the connections.
Capstone Presentation medium: select one or more project mediums you wish to use to present your
project. Outline and give details about how you will present your project once completed. You may use a
combination of mediums.
I want to research with people at the street, especially homeless people. I want my project to me meaningful,
and be on my area of interest, which is homeless people, as I used to work in homeless shelter pre-covid19.
I want to open my ears to the street, and expect to hear many kinds of things, which I strongly felt when I
went to Vancouver to take photos last time. **This is a delicate topic. Many of your photography subjects
may not want to be photographed or be subject of a school assignment. The only way I could see this
working is if you were doing it as part of the Homeless Shelter’s outreach program, and with the blessings of
those people you are trying to help. I WOULD STRONGLY SUGGEST, that because of the obstacles you
may face, that you refine your photography skills with a different subject or focus** A couple suggestions:
“Grad life, School Life, Family Life, My Life”
Resources/ Technology/Skills: Make an assessment of the resources, technology and skills you will
need to be able to complete this project. What is your plan to be able to access/learn all of the resources
necessary to achieve completion of this project? Detail your plans.
Ability to use computer/tools well; like photoshop, lightroom, or even more. Well,
Project limitations: What are some project limitations and potential obstacles that you foresee that might
affect progress with your Capstone Project?
My camera is not good because I am using the one that I got assigned from photography class, 600 dollars
that is. I think I can still take good photos; it just takes longer time to focus on the object, and control camera.
Vancouver weather is quite terrible, so I need to be flexible with weather too. I hope it is clear whenever I
take photos, but that is the area where I cannot control.
Other considerations: List and detail any other related information/ considerations about your project
that you feel should be included in your project proposal.
