Executive Summary
This statement is about my internship program with Boss home appliances. In this
internship report I have discussed about each chief portion of the BOSS Home appliances, which
I observed and supposed in my internship program. In this report you will find the fact about the
company exact from its incorporation to the current point. Along with it, the processes, policies
and procedures of the BOSS home appliances are also discussed in detail. As you know that the
main purpose of internship report is to learn by working in realistic organizations and to concern
the knowledge that we obtain during the studies in a real world state to attempt the problems
using the awareness.
BOSS is a big and much diversified business unit in the Gujranwala region. Being the
much diversified they are performing well in almost all fields of their segmentation. You will
also get informed in this report that the BOSS home appliance is the future seeking organization.
In nut shell BOSS brand is most popular brand in his particular industry as they are providing
quality products.
This report contains the detail of the study of the BOSS home appliances that has been done and
the technical, managerial and strategic aspects have been also discussed to examine and to show
you the current position of the organization. This report also contains my personal perceptions
about the employee’s satisfaction, interest level and the working atmosphere of the boss home
appliances.
PART-1
1-INTRODUCTION
This report is about the BOSS home appliances, Gujranwala, where I find out diverse
belongings throughout the phase of internship concerning Industrial sector that will thrash out in
shortly after in the further portion of this report.
The purpose of this internship is to understand how the theoretical knowledge can be applied to
the practical situations and examine an organization’s financial issues and recognize its
opportunities and threats and to recommend corrective measures. This internship is also very
compulsory to grow self-confidence and become open-minded of system of an organization.
1. Scope
During the internship in, “BOSS HOME APPLIANCES” my focal point was to learn all
operations that are performed in industries. Scope of internship for me was that it will be very
constructive for me in future during the career in any kind of Industry regarding the finance
which I have studied.

1 Brief History
“BOSS” in the Brand Name of “Koh I Noor Hi Tech (Pvt) ltd” established in 1991.
Company has gained excellent reputation with a very short period of time.
Koh I noor Hi tech (Pvt) ltd is one of the leading home appliances Manufacturer &
exporter companies of Pakistan (ISO 9001, CE & OHSAS 18001 Certified) and manufacturing
products by the brand name of “BOSS”.
“BOSS” has 16 years experience in the field of electric motor and spin dryer machine manufacturing.
Boss has a highly skilled and qualified research and development team. A highly motivated and
technically sound middle management, production staff & a very efficient after sale service throughout
Pakistan as well as in foreign countries and has country wide network of 300 dealers.
Nature of Organization
Koh I Noor Hi Tech (Pvt) ltd (BOSS) Industry increasingly involves producing new and magnificent
home appliances for the people of Pakistan and for other countries over some decades. They are
concerned in industrially superior products with a vision to offer a truthfulness and betterment to the
society. Their accomplishments have resulted in bringing greater heights of luxury in every body's choice
with reasonable prices. In accordance the research, a huge space was in the demand and supply of quality
flooring and facing materials in Pakistan. With the increasing monetary growth in the state, the gap is
widening more day by day. They receive it as a challenge and are all out to face it with obligation to make
funds in language of matter and human resource and plug this gap not only with superiority but also with
affordability.

Boss is specialist in the manufacturing of spin dryer machine with 1400 rpm and tumble
dryer with 2800 rpm to 3500 rpm. Boss is also specialist in the manufacturing of single tub full
plastic body washing machine (manual control and semi automatic) with the capacity from 2 Kg
to 14 Kg small to large.
Koh I Noor has a separate quality control unit well equipped with latest machinery.
Maintaining international export quality standards, like ISO 9001. Company has also won
“American award for quality”. The company has also known as the “Export trophy award
2006” from FPCCI for the best exporter of 2006 in washing machine industry.

Boss provide high quality washing and spin dryer machine in different model and prices. Each
product have different style and uniqe features.“Model K.E 5000” this is the spin dryer of the
company. Boss produced high quality spin dryer machine with the unique quality of 1450 rpm
and Tumble dryer of 2800 rpm, which used high quality plastic and electronic motor. The plastic
parts are made with high quality material and motor is made with high electric sheet, which is
very energy efficient.
Model baby wash KE-600” it is a washing mashie for washing small amount of cloths, it has
100% rust and shock proof, uses japans electric sheet , which saves electric consumption
Model KE-333 A metal body washing machine for those who not like plastic body
washing machine with high quality parts especially the electric motor.
Model double layer Plastic washing machine, another miracle of japans technology with

totally made dual plastic layers increasing the strength of the product. This model has
one and two way option in it to washes the clothes.
K.E- AWT-6200 one of the unique full automatic machine, using 4th generation
technology. The user can wash their 30 days laundry just one hour. This washer
used high quality electric motor. The unique designed and quality of the
product is worldwide trustable.
Different model of water and cold dispenser is produced by the boss, these are high efficient and
reliable having German compressor in it. Boss dispenser provides 99.9% germ and bacteria free
hot as well cold water. Due to this these are very famous in the market now days.
Kitchen appliances of Boss is available in different verity according to the need and market
trends. Model “KE-MWO-17-S” the first microwave oven produced by boss is this. This uses
japans technology of heating. This microwave is very reliable and efficient in working.
it is newly introduced in the market provide hot and cold water and also have a mini refrigerator
in it, so you can enjoy cold water and some eatable fresh food at same time. Two models are
available in the water dispenser.
Pest analysis
It is a technique by which I analyzed BOSS that how different factors can affect BOSS. PEST
basically stands for Political, Economical, Social and technological factors. This analysis tells us
how, Political, Economical, Social and technological factors affects positively and negatively on
different businesses.
Political Environment
Political and official factors also have an effect on the demand and operations of the
industrial sector. So these factors also affect BOSS. Unusual policies of the Government
administration also influence the organization like change in custom duties,
Change in tax policy etc. The other things that change the format of
industrial procedures is Political involvement and irritation, far above the
ground taxes also have an effect on the company performance.
Economic Environment
Home appliances industries wish for vast range of customer marketplace in order to maintain big
business expansion and the BOSS home appliances also. Pakistan’s financial system is facing
problems regarding employment; price raises which diluted business expansion. The major risk
for industrialist is the declining the exchange rate. When exchange rate decreases, it devalues the
foreign reserves of banks and gives rise to obligations of the industrialist. Moreover additional
factors employees cost,
working cost, poor debts also have an effect on financial stipulation of the industry. So
BOSS is also affects as exchange rate changes.

Technological factors take part in a very dangerous role in the human life and also have
an effect on the presentation of industrial sector. Change in cost-cutting measure and change in
know-how is in a straight line with each other’s.
There are number of Technological factors that demonstrate good control on industrial
operations. BOSS Home appliances took this challenge as a core responsibility they are offering
products based on latest technology. The whole world is changing day by day; to keep you up-to-
date it is necessary to adopt the changing environment. And the BOSS understands this so they
have Quality products for their consumers as they care their customers and provide value to
them.

Introduction of Departments
The manager of account section is Mr. Taufique and the assistant accountant is Mr. Shabbir.
The Finance & Accounts section is a core competency of any organization. In BOSS home
appliances one Accounts Manager and one persons working as Accountant, that all above
mentioned people can organize, hold and manage all the finance and accounts associated actions
of the business.
In the marketing department of Koh-I-Noor hi tech 30+ employees are working in which 13+ are
field workers and others are office workers. In their job they must complete the certain task to
accomplish their jobs.
It is the duty of market manager to find out direct venders but management always is glad about
the large and bulk orders. The market managers of BOSS always try to find best and vendors
from all over the world to maintain their high quality in their products.

Generate novel Ideas.
The novel ideas are generated by the marketing force for the selling of the particular product but
the new product is always generated by R&D department. In boss market managers always try
their level best to attain the market opportunities and self create new ideas for their products
according to the needs of customers and then transfer to these ideas to research and development
department for the checking of success or failure of the idea.
Communicate inside.
The information of direct and indirect competitors is always communicated internally by
marketing department and also gives suggestions how to compete the competitors. The
suggestions of marketing managers always are welcomed by the company.
Make policies:
In the kohi-e-nor industries marketing manager make policy according to the marketing of the
products and always kept in mind how to deal with the competitor’s policy.
Department of Purchase
Purchase section is extremely important for each business in which comprises purchasing
of unprocessed or raw material, technological mount up things, filling material etc that the entire
material which is compulsory Boss deals with that. First every head of department asks to the
HR manager for the material he needs for production and then the HR manager after collecting
the sum of orders from all the warehouses HOD’s places and order to the suppliers which are in
Gujranwala and other cities as well.
Managing director Mr. Tariq himself visits each and every department after some time
each day and when the order is big he himself works with the employees ignoring that he is the
manager of top level. All the employees and the top management are very hard working and time
oriented. On the other hand BOSS has no separate Finance and research department which are
important for the organization.

things that was very helpful for me. The production department is producing washing machines
KE-3000 and KE-4000 these two models are being assembled under Mr. ajmal. He makes
schedules n daily basis and weekly and monthly. He also keeps an eye on daily progress to
accomplish work on time and to deliver order on time because sometimes he receives orders
from the foreign countries.
Stock Evaluation is a part of the production department which is done in the production
department. When Mr. ajmal receive and order he first see whether he have raw material to
produce or not. When ho get results about the raw material stock he matches it with the
computerized record to confirm the availability of stock according to it. If the stock is les then
the computerized record it means that some stock either was P.R.V (Stock which cannot be used)
or it was of bad quality so it is not used it will also go in P.R.V and will be returned to the
suppliers. The washing machines are made of plastic. This plastic raw material is being imported
and then it is distributed among the suppliers to made final parts of the machines to assemble it.
Injection molding is used to make the body parts of the machines.
BOSS has two molding plants which are in the company that makes the body of KE-1500 and
KE-1000. BOSS imports raw material for plastic body parts which is stored in ware house and
on need is given to the suppliers for molding or injection molding. The production departments

Skills of Communication
Being the part of full professional organization I got a good experience of communication
and communication skills. There was a channel of communication for example; one voucher has
to pass through different departments and this causes the reason to communicate with different
departments. In routine work, there was a time for me to communicate with other jobholders. In
today’s world without the better communication skills nobody can succeed in his professional
career. I got a good experience being the part of the professionals in BOSS.
Professional Skills
While being the part of professionals I take professional look from them in all aspects.
This internship program improved my knowledge as well as practical experience which cannot
be getting by the book knowledge. It’s my belief if a person lives among professional, he have to
achieve something valuable.
Interpersonal skills
It was the grand opportunity for me to develop interpersonal skills as being the part of supreme
professional group of BOSS home appliances people and as well as most mature organization. I
learned from the internship that how I can manage different people who have different
personality, nature and religion. It was also known to me that how can a subordinate behave with
his seniors, G.M, Chief Accountant etc. There was complete friendly environment with full
hierarchy from top level to the lowest level, so I got beautiful experience regarding interpersonal
skills
Weekly Evaluation:
Week 1.
I was being interviewed by M.D Mr. Tariq of BOSS Home appliances. He inquired me a few
matter regarding my skill and my knowledge about the accounts and asked questions
regarding my study. He shared with me side view of Boss Home Appliances. I got a start
with thorough courage and wisdom.
Summary:
Foundation:
“BOSS” in the Brand Name of “Koh I Noor Hi Tech (Pvt) ltd” established in 1991.
Company has gained excellent reputation with a very short period of time. Boss is
specialized in manufacturing of Single Tub Washing machines, Twin Tub Washing
Machines, Tumble Spin Dryers & Spin Dryers. Also deal in GAS water heater, Electric
water Heater & Instant water heaters and small kitchen appliances.
In the BOSS Mr. Tariq send me in HR department. The HR manager told me some
points and rules about the BOSS.
Mr. Ajmal Awaan the manager of the BOSS. He introduced me his work. And showed me the
whole department. His Department is of Washing machines model no KE-4000 and KE-
3000.
Mr ajmal awaan told and showed me the parts list of the machines that were being used to
produce washing machines.
Mr. Ajmal told his accountant Muhsin to take me with him in his work. It was very kind of
him. I worked with him and supervised the employees and dispatched machines for loading
on truck and to send them.
Week 2.
On first and second week I was given the list of the parts of machines to know them and to
remember them. So I took that and went to see all the parts in the ware house.
Mr. Ajmal the Production manager told me to how to evaluate the stock when they get an
order from their suppliers. He told me all the details very clearly and how to submit the details
of the stock and to whom I have to submit it.
On the third Day of second week I started evaluation of stock with the accountant Muhsin. We
go in the ware house and we calculated the stock of raw material present in the ware house to see
the difference between the current stock and the stock we will have to order to suppliers.
On the fourth day the evaluation was continued.
On Wednesday me and Muhsin we calculated and finished the evaluation of all the stock and
prepared a report to submit it to the Ajmal Awaan the production manager.
On the last day of second week me and Mushin we both followed the following steps to submit the
report of the evaluation o stock.

Week 3.
On the first day of the third week in BOSS mr. ajmal awaan send me to the in and out
department where gate pass were given to in or to out raw material or finished goods or
packing material. In out department manager Mr. Faisal gave some of his time to me and
told me his work and he showed me how to operate software and how to complete gate pass.
Without gate pas no material or goods can enter or go.
On second day of my third week Mr. Faisal gave me and computer to operate and to make
gate passes. He gave me a list of products that are used in the software and also a list of
the ware houses and the production departments.
On my third day of third week I was in out department and was operating the software to
out the finished goods also. I have attached an out and an inward gate pass at the end of this
report for the reference.
On the forth day I was in the same department working on BOSS software to in or out the
raw material and finished goods.
On 6th day of my 3rd week I was send to the tax department but unfortunately Mr. Umer who
is the manager of tax department he was too busy in his work so he could not gave me more
time but 2 and a half hours only. And in that time he told me about the tax department and its
importance in BOSS. He told me that BOSS pays its amount of tax on time and completely
that is why BOSS has a good reputation.
On the last day of my 3rd week Mr. Umer told me some entries of the tax which he passed by
the help of the software. Boss software is complete software every department has that
software and has an access of work regarding that department. Mr. Umer just enters some
sales and purchase and the software made entries and calculations for him which are later
printed and used.
Week 4.
My fourth week started after the holidays of EID UL FITR on twenty fifth of august. The
HR asked me the next department. I was then sending in the marketing department to Mr.
Salman who is the manager of the marketing department. Mr. salman asked me about my
studies related questions and he then asked me about what I want to know. I told them what I
have studied about marketing and then I asked them question about how BOSS uses
marketing terms and how they create demand and how they advertise their products and the
budget of marketing. Mr Salman answered some questions and other was remaining
confidential.
On the second day of my fourth week in the BOSS marketing and sales department Mr.
salman told me that he receives order from the 8 distributors all over the Punjab and
Pakistan. And also from foreign countries also. He then put that order to the production
manager and production manager first evaluate the stock and tell salman if the raw material
is enough or not to complete that order. He after consulting with some managers like
Production manager accepts the order and send it to be executed. And the finished goods are
sent on time.
On the third day I was send to the Accounts department to know how the accounts are
maintained. The department manager Mr. umer and Taufique and his assistant accountant
Shabbir told me that they have logins in the software. They just have to enter journal entry
and the remaining accounts are made by the software himself. They showed me their logins
one by one and some entries.
On the fourth day Mr. Shabbir told me and showed me the accounts of the other cities
distributor and the accounts of the other cities ware houses. They maintain a register record
as well as the computer record and the print form of the records also. Then they verify the
record n every order which is executed.
On the second last day of the fourth week I was in same department. Mr Taufique gave me
and computer and told me to operate and to enter some entries. I was given instructions as
well while I was working. I found that the software has all the accounts we need in the
accounting. We just have to enter a journal entry and all the other accounts are generated by
the software itself.
Week 5.
On the first day of my fifth week in BOSS. I was send to the purchase department. Mr. Aadil
who is the head of purchase department he told me the detail of the purchase department
how they get order and how they purchase the parts. He told me the working of the purchase
department. He told me that the order very 1 st received by the sales and marketing
department. And then he receives it. Then copies of the order are sent to the HR and
regarding production department to complete it. The production department provides a report
of remaining stock. And the purchase department places an order for the raw material to the
suppliers.
On the second day I was in same department observing the transactions and working of the
purchase department.
On the third day of fifth week I was send to the HR department. Mr. Usman and Irfan are
the HR managers of the BOSS Home appliances. They send me in the ware houses other
then the department in which I was doing my internship. And I visited and get informed
with the work of the other departments of KE-7500 PLUS and KE-8000 machines models.
On third last day o fifth week I was in the HR department with Mr. Usman and Irfan.
They told me that how they hire and fire employees and how they pay salaries to the
employees. And the other work they do in BOSS.
On the second last day of fifth week I was send in the In out department again as an
employee because Mr. Faisal was absent.
On the very last day of fifth week I was get informed that there is no proper finance
department and no research and development department. They even do not audit their
accounts. This information was told me by the HR managers.
Impact of Internship on my Career
This Internship was a possibility for me to analyze little practical field i.e. Boss home appliances.
Even though there was short distance of time but it will forever give the steps to my victory in
future dealings. Later than getting the final transcription / Degree from university, the very
primary interviewer you will see, inquires the query from this useful experience that you have
which is your placement as a internee and if you get out of it, primary difficulty means that the
form of success is in progress. It will be a familiar sight for me after the conclusion of my grade
as the first query is forever asked about your placement.
I learned how to give the idea to be expert person and how to behave professionally and this will
help in the particular life for me. The skills of communication that I have gained will help a lot to
me in the particular life.
The learning that I have from my internship will cover lot of positive special effects on my career
plans.
The future estimates of the BOSS home appliances are so frequent which of some I mentioned
here. The BOSS home appliances spotlighting on demanding support of sales throughout
marketing, the corporation management is decide to enhance its objective market and they want
to be market leader in the whole world. “Business is no more, without handsome sales”.
A BOSS home appliance is focusing on its effective advertisement as it is the best source to
inform the consumers and to create awareness in final or end users.
Boss home appliances are ready to make bigger their distribution channel in Pakistan as well as
all over the world also. For the expansion of the business they are franchising their showrooms
inside & outside the countries. An extraordinary dealership system is declared in Punjab for
novel as well as presented dealers. This scheme contains fiscal loot for the dealer who fulfills the
target. BOSS home appliances have a best quality award and providing quality products.

2 Suggestions for Improvements
A boss home appliance is a well formulated organization in his business community. BOSS
has well skilled staff. But in every organization loophole always exist. A BOSS home appliance
is also struggling hard for quality accomplishment but as it is a process of continuous
improvement. Being the part of BOSS home appliances as an internee I have some suggestions
which are given below;
1 BOSS has less investment in area of advertisement. But I think so it is the age of digital
world so BOSS should use electronic media for the purpose of spreading awareness
among its end users.
2 BOSS is not offering handsome package to its employees as compare to other firms so
their employees leaves when they get a chance in any other organization.
3 Employees are not satisfied as much due to not having smart salary package they are not
motivated to work as much as they can. This thing leads to less productivity. BOSS
should improve their salaries.
4 One of the basic reasons of dissatisfaction is too much working hour. BOSS is taking
one or two hours more than other firms when they have any specific order without the
overtime payment. Working schedule is 08:00a.m to 05:00p.m.
5 There is no concept of employee training. Being the big organization BOSS should plan
about such programs. New employees must be given training before they are recruited for
the job.
6 Staff turnover leads to losses in terms of financial as well as leaving employee cause the
disorder in work. So BOSS should plan about the turnover ratio of employees to reduce
