2B LENSES and MIRRORS

One of the most commonly used optical devices in our daily life are mirrors and lenses.
Eyeglasses, side-car mirrors, cameras, plane mirrors in your houses, and many more. Without
even realizing, mirrors and lenses have become an integral part of our life. In this activity, we
will learn more about the characteristics of the images formed by mirrors and lenses. To help us
with this lesson, DO AT LEAST ONE OF THE SUGGESTED ACTIVITIES BELOW.

A. MIRRORS AND LENSES AROUND US.

Cite at least 5 applications of curved mirrors, and another 5 applications for lenses.
Explain briefly how the mirrors and lenses are applied in each example. Then, come up with a
generalization based on the following guide questions:

Imagine life without mirrors and lenses. How do you think it would be like? Why are
mirrors and lenses important?

B. CURVED MIRRORS VS. CURVED LENSES

Create a graphic organizer that will show the differences between a

concave and a convex lens in terms of characteristics, image
description, and uses. Then come up with a generalization using the
guide question below:

Why is there a need for us to study the different kinds of lenses?

C. THE SEARCH FOR MR. AND MS. INTROSPECTION 2021

You are one of the finalists of the Search for Mr. and Ms. Introspection
2021. During the Q and A portion, the following question was asked to
you:

What type of optical device (mirror or lens) would best describe

you as a person? How can you make a difference in this world with your
chosen optical device?

Write a 2 paragraph response from this question. You might be the next
Mr. and Ms. Introspection that we are looking for. Do your best!

Let’s meet once again in our Synchronous encounter. God bless you always!
