AAWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)

Select (S):
Identify a lesson and what standards are you addressing

- Addition from 1-5

- Science: similarities and difference

Describe (D):
What were you trying to achieve in your lesson?

In order to ensure that my students learn addition and what similarities and difference mean. I
create a full lesson about it.

During the Introduction, I showed students good morning song. I showed students some pictures
about same and different. I did the first one then I asked them to answer the other questions.
After that, I started the Math which is about addition. First, I use prior knowledge and let
students count with the song to review the numbers. Then, I started to explain what addition
mean and show them example and let some students to answer the other questions.

- Like what the Montessori approach operates on the belief that children learn best when they
possess background knowledge about a subject.

- During the active engagement, I divided the students into groups according to levels. I did the
focus group in this lesson. I integrated literacy with the learning outcome. I started to read a
story for the students about same and different, students were engaged with the story. and use
diagram to show the students the different and same in the story. I gave students some pictures
and ask students to sort the pictures. When students sort the pictures, I asked students to count
and write the number.
- Waldorf classrooms include a great deal of storytelling, fantasy, make-believe play, art, drama
and crafts. and I used the story in this lesson to support the learning outcomes and students
have fun during learning.

- During the conclusion, I play for the student’s a video and ask students to answer the question.
What did the students do?

During the introduction, students were interacting with me and most of the time when I called
their name they would respond and answer my questions. Also, I gave students sticker to
motivate them. During the active engagement, students were excited to do the activity and most
of them they try every activity. During the conclusion, students they answer the question
together and collaborate.

Analyze (A):
How well did your teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding?

I used prior knowledge when I review the numbers and choose some students to count. In
addition.
How well did you engage the students?

I engage students when I asked them to answer the questions and interact with another’s. Also,
when I let them work together in focus group.

Why do you think the students responded the way that they did?

in my opinion, the students were able to understand the learning outcome because I used
pictures and videos. This resource help students to understand the concept and help them
understand the new words. In addition, Activities that link with play are very effective and help
students remember the information.

Appraise (A):
Did your lesson meet your teaching goals?

By the end of the lesson, 80% of the students will be able to learn addition and what similarities
and difference mean. I create a full lesson about it.

Transform (T):
How might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future?

I will use differentiation in the focus and must find a way to keep the students and class organizer and at
the same time be individually or small group.
What are the implications for your professional practice?

This will help me know the students' understanding and whether the activities were effective,
and each student was able to understand the lesson.
