At the end of the lesson, the pupil will be able to:
1. identify the meaning of words with multiple meaning.
2. appreciate the importance of identifying the meaning of words, and
3. write the correct meaning of the words using the context clues.

Read the following words.

● What is fantasy? Reality?
● Read the following statements carefully and examine if they could really
happen in real life.
a. Apollo bought some clothes at the mall.

d. When the car got tired, it stopped to take a rest.
e. The invisible kitten played with a ball of yarn.
3. Motivation
● Show a picture of children playing a kite.
● Ask: “Do you like to play a kite?”
● Who are your playmates?
● Talk about the importance of friends and the people around you.
● How do you show your love to your friends and to the people around you?
B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
Let the pupils read one of the sentences taken from the selection, “Kite Flying”
He made them think that a new star had appear as a sign of divine help
What is the meaning of the word star and sign as used in the sentence?
2. Activity
Divide the class into four groups.
Provide the groups with manila paper and pentel pen.
Let the groups choose their answer from the given meanings in the boxes.

Give them ten minutes to do the activity.
Then, ask the leader of each group to display their work in front.
Let them explain their answer.

How do you find the activity?
How were you able to choose the correct meaning of the words?
What did you consider to get the correct meaning?
Give more examples in identifying the meaning of the words.
4. Abstract
How were you able to identify the meaning of the word?
What do you mean by context clues?
5. Application
Study the underlined words. Choose the correct meaning from the box.
