In the Southeast Asian area, the Philippines is unique among its neighbors in
that the majority of Filipinos identify as Christians (92.5 percent ). Since the
arrival of Christianity to the Philippines, there has been a process of cultural
adaptation and integration of Christianity into indigenous culture. The locals of
Cebu were converted to Christianity by Magellan. Finding out where the first
mass in the Philippines took place is important in today's world because it
helps people, particularly Christians, understand the history of their religion.
This study aims to prove that Limasawa is the place where the first mass in
the country happened.
