Each atom has different number of orbitals. These orbitals differ in size depending on where
they are on the periodic table. As you go down a group, the quantum number “n” increases
meaning that the size of the orbital and atomic radius increases as well.
11. How many orbitals are there in an h-subshell (l = 5)? What are all the possible values of m?
There are 6 orbitals in an h-shell and the possible values of m is -5, -4, -3, -2, -1, 0 +1, +2,
+3, +4, +5.
