4. Procedures
4.1 Introductory Activity ACTIVITY: WHAT, WHY, HOW?
PURPOSE: For the students to understand the benefits of achieving being
physically fit through setting up a goal.

The teacher begins the class with a short prayer followed by checking of
attendance.

The teacher will then show pictures of fit celebrities.

T: What have you noticed among those pictures I’ve shown you?

Possible answers: Sexy, hot, nice body form


T: How do you think they’ve achieved such level of fitness? Or body figure?

Possible answers: Through exercise, diet, healthy lifestyle

T: Those answers ang correct, but WHY? Why would they want to have a sexy
or healthy body?

Possible answers:

- Because they want to have a healthy life.


- So that they won’t get sick easily.
- They will have strong immune system
- It makes them happy.

T: How will they achieve such level of fitness?

Answer: By setting a goal or target.

Note:

To sum it all up they simply have goals for themselves. For example, they
want to look good. Or they want to be healthy. To achieve that they must make
that a goal. That way, all the things that they will do, eat, and repeat in the next
couple of days, months, or years will be based on achieving that goal.

4.2 Activity ACTIVITY: WORD GAME


PURPOSE:
10 minutes
- For the students to recall the different Health Related Fitness
Components
- Demonstrate interest through active participation in the activities

The teacher will show a collection of words related to the topic HEALTH
RELATED FITNESS. The teacher will ask the students to identify or name these
words. Each word mentioned per students is equivalent to 1 point which will be
noted by the class secretary.

T: What is FITNESS? How can one be considered fit?

NOTE:

For us to answer that question, lets first get to know these words which are
very essential to our topic. Let’s define some words!

Activity: FILL ME UP
4.4 Abstraction Purpose:

The teacher will discuss using PowerPoint presentation.

The teachers explain how to make a fitness plan then lets the students understand the parts

4.6 Assessment Activity: Question and answer


Purpose:
5 minutes
- Define Physical Fitness according to WHO definition
- Understand the importance of being physically fit and active as a
student

The teachers will ask the following questions.


1. What is Fitness?
- is a condition in which an individual has enough energy to
avoid fatigue and enjoy life.
- means doing daily activities with the least effort possible.

2. Why is knowing your level of FITNESS important?


- It helps us avoid the risk of getting sick easily
- It can help us adjust our lifestyle.
- Being fit means I can do more everyday

3. What are the 5 HRF components?


- CARDIOVASCULAR
FITNESS/ENDURANCE, MUSCULAR
STRENGTH, MUSCULAR ENDURANCE,
FLEXIBILITY, BODY COMPOSITION
4. How will you know if you are fit or not?
- You can do daily chores, and activities
with the least amount of effort.
- You don’t get tired easily.
- You look and feel healthy.
4.7 Assignment Purpose:

-Generate fitness baseline


- Make a fitness plan according to baseline results

T: Create your own fitness plan for the whole quarter. Use your baseline results
as your guide on where to start.
