PART A – (5  2=10 marks)

1. Design an integrator to integrate a square wave of 1 KHZ.

2. How does a diode act as a comparator?

3. Why is the astable multivibrator referred to as a free running oscillator?

4. What is called as cross over distortion and how to minimize this distortion?
5. Compare the efficiency of class A, B, C, AB.
PART B – (5  08=40marks)

6. Design an astable Multivibrator circuit to generate a 1KHz square wave. The supply
value is 5V and collector current is to be 2mA.Assume hfe=70

7. Design the monostable Multivibrator for the following specifications:Vcc=10V,

VBB=6v, Ic(on) =1mA, duration of the output pulse=14msec, hfe(min) =100, IcBo=0,
VBE(off) =-0.5V.

8. Sketch the circuit of bistable multivibrator and explain the circuit operation.

9. With necessary circuit diagrams and waveforms explain the operation of the following
(i)Positive clipper (ii) Negative clipper (iii) Biased clipper

10. Discuss the classB push-pull power amplifier.
