Which advice will you give? Submit your personal reflection. Reflection is individualized.

We decided to choose essentialist and behaviorist because it is fitted to our personality and I think

it also helps me become more matured and grow professionally.

D. ESSENTIALISTS: Students are not interested in the lesson.

My personal reflection on this student is to take time to talk and help him/her see life
by citing examples to those students who are positively grow and has good life. Reflect to them
those students who are very unfortunate to their daily living and suffers the difficulties in life.
Give some scenarios between good and bad, between happy and miserable life. Impart and apply
some tips given to some experts to be able to acquire and practice this knowledge that I
learned to my everyday life. With this, it helps me become more responsible and alert in
relation to my studies. In order to allow people get my good side even if they are rich or
poor, I will manipulate my mind or other peoples minds by simply attracting an object. I
will encourage them to break the answer down into clear steps so that they are totally sure
of the process. Suggest a little extra 'in-depth' information to add to their answer and
request them once more to show off their new knowledge and tell you 'all they know'
about the subject.

Discover the student’s problem by gathering information’s to the family and

friends as well as to their background both personal and be able to keep secrets to this
major problem so that trust and confidence remains. Sincere praise is one of the most
powerful tools you possess and as long as he understands that you actually do want to
help him.

Based on my readings, an essentialist teacher is going to focus on developing

skills and competency rather than the learning knowledge for the sake of knowledge.
Yes, this is very true. Like today’s time pandemic, the students has given the
opportunity to choose their studies that is fitted to their needs specially in the
hinterland areas. In order to develop skills and competency of the lesson, the teachers
made an intervention called offline RBI (radio based instruction). Teachers find their
ways on how to cater students who are far from the school and they will not be left
behind. Since my mother is a teacher in the hinterland area, they made some home
visitation to students who are logged in claiming and receiving their modules and
SLA’s. They focus on the skills of their students and availability of the materials
specially in the TLE subject. There will be a focus on the basics of education and the
classroom will be subject centered as well. There will not be much tolerance for
meeting needs or understanding differences among students.
Focus on job skills and training towards employment would also be stressed.
For the senior high school students, the electrical installation subject targeted their
students to have an NCII holder despite of the pandemic. With this, there is a focus of
the education in training people to be equipped for the workplace and not for personal
fulfillment. If students enjoy what they learn this is an added bonus but not
necessarily critical for the learning experience.

F. BEHAVIORISTS: Teacher tells students from derived homes, “If there is a will, there is a way.
Poverty is not a hindrance to success”.
Yes, when I was young I heard this words. Our teachers require us to write an essay about it. At
the same time it has been a topic or debate in our class. They would let us do activities related to that
saying. They always relate stories and encourage us to read those who are now a successful and a famous
people like Manny Pacquiao and businessman Henry Sy.

Today’s age of mine, I believe the quote "“If there is a will, there is a way. Poverty is not a
hindrance to success” because if someone has the desire and determination to do something, he or she
can find a means for accomplishing it. So, that is why the teacher tells the student about it so that it will
help them become strong and more determined to finished their studies despite of the many trials that
may they encounter specially of todays time pandemic. I as student felt difficult and unhappy for what is
happening in education today but since it is required and needs to us to continue our ambition and goals
in life. We sent to school even if it is very hard for us to comprehend and analyze the topic given
specially when our educational foundation is not okey and knowledge are not well acquired.

Others will disagree this quote because of so many people are not given the equal opportunities
and privileges that other people have. One of the great examples is that people who experience poverty
have a hard time going to school and finishing their degrees. Just like my mother, she was once a working
student from grade 3 until second year college. She had her own work being a tutor for 5 kids in the
kindergarten which made her continue supporting her studies until she graduated. Since her parents came
from not well-off families and that made her experienced poverty first-hand and they told us their own
stories, so since I was young, I already had an idea of what it looks like to be unprivileged.

I am not generalizing my descriptions but I would say that most of the people who experience poverty are
like these:

They need to work extra harder than those who are more privileged.

They have no connections so they mostly figure out everything by themselves, especially in the past
where the internet was not a thing.
They need to be more resourceful because they do not have everything on hand and they can't buy things
in an instant.

They experienced food scarcity or sometimes being unhealthy with the food that they eat because they
have no choice but to eat what's just on their table.

They walk most of the time just to go to their school or work because they do not have enough money for
transportation and they can’t afford buying their own car as well.

Again, the line says "poverty is a hindrance to success"

According to Google, the synonyms of hindrance are obstacle, interruption, and difficulty.

It is indeed true that poverty is really an obstacle in reaching for success.

Other people may argue, "but Manny Pacquiao and other people are from a very poor situation and yet
they still managed to be successful, what are you talking about?"

Well, if you are going to comprehend the line again that poverty is a hindrance to success. It is not
impossible, but it is still an obstacle, an interruption, a difficulty that one must endure and escape from in
order to attain success.

Let's face the fact that unprivileged people really need to go on difficult battles compared to people with
more privileges.

If you don't understand what the quote truly implies, it is either you are privileged, you are blinded by
reality, or both.

I believe in an old Filipino saying that...

“Kung gusto, may paraan. Kung ayaw, maraming dahilan.”

In English, “If there’s a will, there’s a way. If there isn’t a will, there are a lot of reasons.”

Whatever the case where a person is in, whether he’s experiencing poverty or not, I believe that each one
of us are given different challenges in order to achieve our own successes. Poverty is a challenge for
many people, but it is definitely not impossible to reach success just because of poverty.

There are so many people already who proved that it is not impossible to escape from poverty. I believe
that by being determined, putting in consistent hard work, and not giving up can absolutely lift a person
from poverty.
