How to clean F.O.

Discharge filter

- Open steam valve for manual filter.

- Open by-pass valve between filters
- Open bleed valve to check that manual filter is filled with
fuel.
- Change position of cross-over valve (see drawing on filter)
- Close by-pass between filters
- Close steam for automatic filter
- Shut off power on control unit
- Place self turning handle on free end of motor shaft.
- Rotate handle until cam disc (on motor shaft) and limit
switch are precisely aligned. Red dot will indicate which
filter is in use (will be flushed)
- Activate solenoid air valve manually by means of a
screwdriver. Keep pressed for at least 12 seconds. The valve
is located on bottom of filter port side.
- Rotate cam to flush next filter and repeat flushing sequence
until all filter chambers are flushed.
- Close air inlet valve and activate solenoid valve until
pressure in air receiver drops to zero.
- For safety precautions it is an excellent idea to open to
differential pressure indication box by removing the piping.
You will now be able to slowly open the valve and check for
pressure in the filter chambers. Move cam disc to check all
filters.
- Remove the air bleed piping connected to all the filters.
- It is now safe to open the filter housings and replace the
filters.
- When all filters are replaced and housings fitted connect the
air bleed pipes.
- Fill all housings with F.O. by opening the by-pass between
filters.
- By turning the handle it is possible to fill housings one by
one.
- By opening valve to differential indication box it is
possible to bleed air from housings.
- Open for the air and switch on system.
- Change position of cross-over valve to both filters.
- Let system run with both filters in use for a while and
change over to automatic filter.
