III. ESSAY. Briefly explain the following items.

1. What are the benefits of tourism planning? (10 points)


- Tourism planning contributes to the preservation of cultural and natural resources for
tourism. It contributes to a better knowledge of other cultures. It constructs new
infrastructure, such as sewage systems for entire communities or new roadways.
Tourism planning could contribute in the area's long-term sustainability by ensuring that
natural, cultural, and other tourism resources are preserved for future use. Furthermore,
it has the potential to assist society by increasing tourist satisfaction, which is critical for
the area's and country's tourism success.

2. Explain the Bureaucratic/Government Approach as an approach to Tourism Devt. Panning.


(10 pts.)
- Bureaucratic approach is a systematic process, integrated, and comprehensive efforts
aimed at realizing good governance. Numerous factors influence tourist interaction
between governments, governments and non-governmental organizations, governments
and individuals, and vice versa, in diverse ways. The principles of benefit, kinship, justice
and equity, balance, independence, sustainability, participative, sustainable, democratic,
equality, and unity guide tourist development. This idea will also be fulfilled through the
implementation of tourism development plans that take into account the diversity,
distinctiveness, and uniqueness of culture and nature, as well as human tourism
requirements.

3. What is “Tourism Enterprise Zone”? (10pts.)


- It refers to facilities, services, and attractions that are primarily involved in tourism, in
whole or in part, with the goal of bringing visitors to and within the Philippines. On the
recommendation of any Local Government Unit (LGU) or private entity, or through joint
ventures between the public and private sectors, a specific area or territory may be
classified as a TEZ by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA).
