Dear Ms. Ma,

I am currently in grade 12 at RE Mountain Secondary and hoping to pursue a job in food and
service. I look forward to improving my communication and time management skills as my
previous experience, as stated on my resume, focused on other skills.

I have worked with people of all ages and plan to use those skills to provide excellent customer
service. Working as a gymnastics coach, I learned to diligently do my job and make sure
everyone felt included. When judging gymnastics routines, I learned to think quickly and speak
up when needed. I demonstrated leadership, professionalism, and resourcefulness consistently
throughout these experiences.

Having done gymnastics for 9 years I have tons of knowledge on the sport and the techniques
and work ethic it takes to be successful. My boss was my current coach, which made it easier to
communicate as I already knew their type of teaching style. Being with my coach for long hours
for much of the week allowed me to connect better with them. Being honest and upfront with my
opinions while keeping them professional is important because it shows how you understand and
respond to others. An interview is a fantastic opportunity to observe someone.
