Ways in Which Advocacy and Public Health intersected

Introduction

The advocates are persons who speak on behalf of those whose voices are not considered.

For instance, they work with decision-makers, such as physicians and legislative bodies to solve

problems and suggest alternatives for those in need. However, public health nurses may involve

advocating for children, mentally and ill patients who are uninformed about health care policies

and their own rights. Besides, American Nurses Association (ANA) code of ethics states the

outputs of advocacy and public health nursing that comprise of promoting, advocating for,

protecting the rights, health, and safety of the patient. Therefore, this study reveals several ways

in which advocacy and public health nursing are interconnected and states some specific

examples that demonstrate how community health promoted from the advocacy provided by

nurses.

clarify how public health benefits from advocacy include ensuring safety, giving patients voices,

educating, protecting rights, and mitigating errors. Furthermore, other paybacks of advocacy

comprise improved medical facility, legal system and effective health policy. Cohen and

Marshall (2017) state that Public health advocates are encouraged to draw adequate evidences
