combustion or burning, in
which substances combine
chemically with oxygen from
the air and typically give out
bright light, heat, and smoke.

HOW DOES FIRE SPREAD? ELEMENTS OF FIRE

There are 6 ways in which a
Oxygen, heat, and fuel
fire will commonly spread:
are frequently referred to
as the "fire triangle."
Direct Contact
Radiation
Conduction.
Convection.
Flashover
Backdraught

The Four Stages of Fire

1. Incipient
- An incipient fire is the beginning of fire. It can still be controlled.

2. Growth
- The growth of a fire will be affected by the structure of the building and the
fuel available.

3. Fully developed
- The fire reaches the fully developed stage. This is the strongest phase of fire
wherein its energy is greater.

4. Decay
- The fire ends up to be decayed, meaning it has run out of fuel or oxygen.
