OUTLINE
WILL AI MAKE HUMANS UNEMPLOYED IN THE FUTURE?

I/ Introduction
Human can not be unemployed by the growth of AI in the future for the following
reasons.
II/ Body
1. Argument 1
Artificial intelligence is not as creative as humans.
- Human are the ones who develop new ideas and have the potential to turn
imagination into reality.
- AI technology can not learn to think outside the box because its ability is
limited by the capability of the coders.
2. Argument 2
AI  have no sense of emotions and do not have decision-making abilities
to handle difficult situations.
- AI is rational but inhuman as AI does not possess emotions and feelings.
- AI does not have its own judgment-making skills because of lacking
emotional motivation.
3. Counterargument and refutation
- Counterargument: AI will eliminate the need of humans for many different
kinds of jobs in different categories.
- Refutation :
+ At the same time, the growth of AI systems will create a wide range of
new jobs.
+ The growth of AI would require the support of experts and high-skill
workers, which is also another frontier for job creation.
+ Not all type of jobs will be totally affected.
III/ Conclusion:

2
The use of AI systems can not cause human job losses.

3
The explosion of modern science and technological breakthroughs have increased the
application of artificial intelligence, which might have a potential influence on
employment. It is widely believed that technological innovations AI have improved
workers productivity and created new goods, generating more jobs in the economy.
While AI systems are increasingly outperforming humans, they can not be totally a
replacement for them. In our opinion, humans can not be unemployed by the
development of AI within the coming years for two following reasons.

The first significant reason why algorithm-driven artificial intelligence (AI) does not
push humans out of the workplace is that robots with the aid of artificial intelligence
are not as creative as humans. High-technology devices can interpret and learn things
but they can never overcome people because humans are able to turn imagination into
reality by developing new ideas. AI can not be creative in its approach because it lacks
abstract thinking which only exists in human’s brain.  According to Kuklenko (2020,
para. 12): "It follows logic algorithms and a complex set of instructions. Incapable of
comprehensive thinking, artificial intelligence cannot be motivated, inventive,
sensitive, or be conscious". Moveover, AI technology is capable of learning over time
with pre-fed data but it can not learn to think outside the box because its ability is
limited by the capability of the coders. The machines applying AI undertake the
positions that  AI game programmers, for example, have responsibility for outlining
the way the characters operate by writing the codes.

4
The other obvious reason stating why code-based machine intelligence can not steal
human jobs is that AI has no sense of emotions and does not have the decision-making
abilities to handle difficult situations. AI-based machines are rational in their approach
but they do not possess the ability to show emotions and feelings. For example,
artificial intelligence-driven tools such as surgical robots are purely logical and they
are not programmed to sense any particular insight into the patient's physical
characteristics or sufferings. According to Ardire (2019, para. 4) “You cannot have
‘human-like’ intelligence (AGI) without personality or emotions. People do not
change behavior based on information, they change it on emotion, emotional
intelligence, and empathy”. AI is not sufficiently advanced to convey sentiment and
sympathy, making it harder to interact and engage with human beings. As a result, AI
is unable to create products that can adapt to customer emotions and satisfaction.
Moreover, AI systems do not have their own judgment- making skills because they
lack emotional motivation. While AI could come up with logical reasons to deal with a
number of choices, it lacks the emotional push to do or not do any of them. AI-
enabled machines, after all, are just data and algorithm-based programs that can only
perform what they are installed to do. When they encounter an unfamiliar situation,
their performance will show flaws or might even break down in such unexpected
circumstances. According to Domingos (2018, para. 8)  “A self-driving car can drive
millions of miles, but it will eventually encounter something new for which it has no
experience”.

Many people argued that AI will eliminate the need for humans in many different
categories of employment. This viewpoint could be correct, however, at the same time
the advancement of AI systems result in the creation of new jobs that humans are
familiar with, as well as many more in categories that have yet to be created. Jobs are
not destroyed because it is just a workforce transformation from one location to
another. AI applications in the workplace are predicted to generate 133 million new

5
tasks by 2022, with 58 million net new jobs ( Chowdhry, 2018). In addition, the
existence of AI in the workplace will necessitate the assistance of specialists and high-
skill workers, which is another potential source of employment. Furthermore,
advanced AI systems will not have a complete impact on all categories of
employment. The administration, healthcare, education, recreation and hospitality will
continue being major human employees.

In conclusion, a large number of powerful AI systems would be deployed in the next

few years, potentially posing a job threat to mankind. Intelligent machines can be
trained to facilitate our work, but they can not take the place of tasks that involve
creativity, emotion and ethical decision-making. While AI may temporarily replace a
few occupational roles, humans will always be required.
