Summary (Adults)
 Chronic energy deficiency (CED) significantly
decreased in 2018-2019
 Anemia declined, particularly among female adults
 Elevated blood pressure significantly declined
 Smoking declined steadily and evident among
male adults and those in rural areas
 Physical inactivity also slightly declined
Summary (Adults)
 Overweight and obesity significantly increased in
2018-2019; 1 in every 3 adults were overweight or obese
 Android-type of obesity (high WC and high WHR)
also increased particularly among female adults
 High fasting blood sugar continues to increase
 Impaired fasting glucose (110-125 mg/dL)
or pre-diabetes increased more than three-fold
over the past decade
 More than half of current drinkers were still
engaged in binge drinking

Summary (Elderly)
 Chronic energy deficiency significantly decreased
in 2018-2019
 Anemia slightly declined
 Elevated blood pressure significantly decreased,
though 1 in every 3 elderly had elevated blood
pressure
 Proportion of current smokers slightly declined
 Binge drinking among currently drinking elderly
slightly decreased, particularly among females
 Physical inactivity also slightly declined
Summary (Elderly)
 Overweight and obesity, as well as android-type
of obesity (high WC and high WHR) significantly
increased in 2018-2019

 High fasting blood sugar significantly


increased; 13.8% elderly had high fasting
blood sugar
