JOINT-JUDICIAL AFFIDAVIT
(Arresting Officers)
We, PEMS NICOLE ZEFANYA and PCPL. LORENZO CHENG all of legal ages,
Filipino, married, all bona fide members of Philippine National Police, assigned as
the Investigator and Team Leader/members of Mobile Responders Section of
Station 3, Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, stationed in Brgy. Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu
City, after having been duly sworn to in accordance with law, hereby depose and
say:
1. Upon receiving a call from one Ylona Garcia, that a certain commotion
occurred due to stabbing incident transpired coming from Barangay Gun-ob,
Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. That the station commander
immediately ordered to conduct ocular inspection and investigate the matters
subject of the emergency call.
2. That in compliance with the order, I as the team leader along with two other
police officers went to the said place of the alleged incident to investigate.
Such proper procedure and protocols of warrantless arrest and frisking was
observed by the arresting officers who likewise conducted such
investigation.
3. That We will also identify certain documents and pieces of evidence and
other facts relation to the apprehension that was conducted by said police
officers.
4. That We will answering the questions asked of us, fully conscious that we
will doing this under oath and we may face criminal liability for false
testimony or perjury if we state falsehood in my testimony. The whole
process has been done in Visayan which language is understood by us, and
translated into English and explained to us;
5. Other material allegations stated in the Information filed against the accused,
Maria Christina Pols, having been sworn to in accordance with law, do
hereby depose and state by way of answer to the following questions:

Facts: That on or about 1st day of October 2021 at 3:00 o’clock in the afternoon, PSMS MARCIAL YCONG,
36 years old, married, and a resident of Basak, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, received a call from Ylona Garcia
on this station reporting that the named suspect Maria Christina Pols, 38 years old, married, resides in
Ampalaya Village, Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, stab her neighbor. The victims have been identified as
Alita Batolgel, 40, married whom reside in Ampalaya Village, Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.

1. Upon receiving a call from one Ylona Garcia, that a certain commotion
occurred due to stabbing incident transpired coming from Barangay Gun-
ob, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. That the station commander
immediately ordered to conduct ocular inspection and investigate the
matters subject of the emergency call.
2. That on or about 1ST day of October, 2021 at about 3:28 o’clock in the
afternoon, We PEMS NICOLE ZEFANYA and PCPL. LORENZO
CHENG arrested Maria Christina Pols at Barangay Gun-ob Ampalaya
Village, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
3. That before I arrested the suspect, I informed the nature of the offense
she committed, why she was arrested and I appraised to her the
Constitutional Rights by reading to her the Miranda Doctrine as well as
her right to undergo physical examination;
