FCCI vows to contribute
in “Clean Green Pakistan”

ment protection is our
global obligation and in this
connection business com-
munity of Faisalabad is fully
contributing its key role in
the materialization of Prime
Minister’s vision of “Clean
& Green Pakistan”, said
Chaudhary Talat Mahmood
Senior Vice President Fais-
alabad Chamber of Com-
merce & Industry (FCC).
In a meeting with Mr. Wa-
seem Ahsan Cheema Dep-
uty Director Environment
Protection, he said that
FCCI was continuously
concentrating on creating
awareness among the soci-
ety with a special focus on
the industry.
He said that regular mes-
sages are emailed to our
members so that they could
remain in touch with the
latest developments in the
environment. He said that

yet another meeting would
also be arranged to create
much needed awareness
among the FCCI members
and officials of the environ-
ment protection depart-
ment would also be invited
to participate in it.
He proposed that environ-
ment monitoring devices
may be installed around all
congested industrial and
commercial concerns par-
ticularly situated in the ur-
ban area so that immediate
remedial measures could be
taken to contain the pollu-
tion. He said that environ-
mental pollution is a gener-
al problem but erroneously
it has been dubbed with the
industry only which is not
correct.
He said that automobiles
are also one of the major
causes of environment
and noise pollution which
should be checked with an
iron hand.
He also stresses the need
for continuous efforts
to contain the pollution
through extensive tree plan-
tation and other approved
measures.
Earlier Deputy Director En-
vironment protection Mr.
Waseem Ahsan Cheema ex-
plained in detail the increas-
ing pollution and said that
society as a whole should
play its role to make the en-
vironment a livable place for
the coming generations.
He lamented that some
scattered industrial units in
the urban areas are using
hazardous fuel which is dan-
gerous for human life.
He said that the chamber
must play its proactive role
to check this trend. He
also assured to resolve the
issues relating to the early
issuance of environment
related NOCs for the new
industrial units.

Thursday urged young gener-
ation to get skills in different
medical services for creating
employment opportunities for
unemployed of the society.
He was addressing as a chief
guest in a ceremony in con-
nection to observe World
Physiotherapy Day that was
arranged by Khyber Medical
University (KMU).
Speaker Mushtaq Ghani
said that importance of
physiotherapy could not be
undermined as it is one of
the significant part of medi-
cal sciences.
He said the work of physi-
otherapists was related to
sports injuries, recovery after
surgeries and management of
various conditions, like chron-
ic pain, neurological and res-
piratory disorders.

The Deputy Commissioner
visited the site of parking Pla-
za outside Chiniot bazar and
was briefed on the latest po-
sition of the project. He said
that construction of parking
plazas was essential for the
solution of serious problems
of parking in the city.
He said that this project
would completed by public
private partnership. Dep-
uty Commissioner went to
land Record Centers of City
& Sadar and checked the
attendance of staff, imple-
mentation of Corona SOPs
and met with applicant on
the spot while checking
pending matters.
He asked the applicants
about the performance of
the centers. He told the
in-charges of the center, that
their performance would
be tested only by providing
high speed services to the
applicants. He also urged

arrangements and supply of
drinking water to the appli-
cants visiting the center.
The Deputy Commission-

and checked the cleanliness
situation.
He also directed to increase

ment General Hospital

and checked the medical
facilities provided to the pa-
tients at outdoor. He called
for ensuring cleanliness in
the hospital and implemen-

He reviewed the construc-
tion progress of the hospital
and upgrade project and
said that the required funds
were being written to the
Punjab government. He also
spoke to the patients and
their relatives and asked
them about treatment facili-
ties and said that this hospi-
tal is no less than a blessing
for the surrounding popu-
lations and rapid steps are
being taken to make it fully
functional. Meanwhile, Dep-
uty Commissioner Monitor-
ing the bidding process of
potato and other vegetables
and fruits.
He asked the market com-
mittee to keep a close
watch on the bidding pro-
cess and keep the records
updated and not to allow
undue increase in the price
of any commodity. He also
directed for full implemen-
tation of Corona SOPs
in the vegetable market.
Deputy Commissioner also
went to the proposed site of
GOR III and took a briefing
about project and checked
feasibility report. He went
to surface water treatment
project of WASA at Novelty
Pull and directed the nec-
essary instructions to the
authorities.
Hayatabad
Courts to
reduce burden
on city courts
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakh-
tunkhwa Minister for Finance
and Health Taimur Salim
Jhagra Thursday said the
newly constructed courts in
Hayatabad sector would pro-
vide facilities to local people
besides reducing burden on
city courts.
Talking to a delegation of Fed-
eral Lawyers’ Forum here at
his office, he assured that the
government would soon make
these courts operational, add-
ing that it would provide a
considerable relief to people
of PK-73 constituency. – DNA
