Discover the Love of Christ

Frostproof, Florida November 2021

Dear Church Family,

In 1621 the early Pilgrims celebrated their first harvest festival. They were thankful
to God for their food, shelter, clothing, family and friends. They were thankful for
the little they had. How much more should we be thankful for all that our God has
blessed us with. As we celebrate Thanksgiving, it is good to set aside one day but
God’s blessings are not limited to one day and neither should our gratitude be
limited. God’s blessings and compassions are new every morning (Lamentations
3:23). In spite of what we have endured this year we are indeed blessed.
I want to encourage everyone to be involved in a small group, which we call LIFE
Groups. Here are some reasons why small groups are important to a believer’s
spiritual growth:
1. It helps you learn to get along with “family members”. We need to remember
that we are all “imperfect” believers, and we need to experience the connection
God intends for us to have with others. God expects you to love others in the same
way that Jesus loves you.
2. It moves us toward maturity by engaging “one another”. We are commanded to
love each other, pray for each other, accept each other, forgive each other, and
many other “one another’s.” You cannot grow to maturity just by attending worship
services and being a passive spectator. In order to grow you need other believers.
Inside this issue:
3. A small group helps confirm your identity as a genuine believer. You are not the
body of Christ by yourself. You need others to express that. Together we are the
body. 1

4. A small group helps us as we take the love of Jesus into the world. We are not to
just love one another; we are to take Christ’s love to a lost world. Jesus had a small Angel Tree Gifts 2
group as He walked this earth. Together is easier. Frostproof Care Center
5. A small group helps us to stay on track. None of us are immune to temptation.
We have the responsibility to keep each other on track. We are to be involved in November Calendar 3
each other’s lives.
November Birthdays
6. A small group is a place for you to discover, develop and use your gifts and
talents. Your family needs you. God has gifted you, and you have a ministry FBC Ministry 4

Bible study is important, but there is so much more. I hope you will get connected.
What Are You Thank For
Imagine what it would be like if we were fully devoted followers of Christ!

Angel Tree Gifts

Each year our church supports Christmas gifts for children and students in our church and
community. This year the Angel Tree names will be available in the foyer on Sunday, November
21, 2021.

Ages begin with babies to youth. Pants, shirts, and dress sizes will be provided. Also, each card
will list several hobby items. You may purchase gift cards, give a monetary gift, or purchase the
gift. If you would like Mandy to shop for you, please let her know.

Wrapped gifts should be returned to the office no later than Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

For additional information concerning Angel Tree gifts, contact Mandy Long at (863) 589-8297.
Thank you for your support and generosity to this ministry.
