On October 11, 2021, At 1912 hours Investigator Christopher Brown observed a black in
color 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe with a GA tag of PTC6057 traveling north on Highland
Avenue just before Clifton Road with a tinted tag cover obstructing the actual tag.

Investigator Christopher Brown activated the emergency equipment on his patrol

vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Upon approaching the vehicle from the passenger
side Inv. Brown observed Jermaine Jones Sr. in the front passenger seat, Jermaine
Jones Jr. in the right rear passenger seat and Willie Baker in the driver's seat.

Inv. Brown explained to the occupants why he stopped them. While speaking with
the occupants of the vehicle Investigator Richard Russell arrived on scene along with
members of the Crime Suppression Team. At this time Investigator Christopher Brown
asked the driver Willie Baker if he would consent to a search of the vehicle and Baker
did consent. At the same time Baker consented Deputy Lora Hucko responded to the
scene and her canine partner while performing an open air search alerted to the odor of
narcotics in the vehicle. All occupants were then removed from the vehicle and placed
on the curb behind the vehicle while officer's conducted a vehicle search.

While Investigator Brown began searching the area where Jermaine Jones Jr. was
sitting, Jermaine Jones Jr. stood up in front of Inv. Russell and stated to his father he
was going to run. At this time Investigator Brown located a 9mm Glock 26 Handgun with
a serial number AEAZ287 and a glass crack pipe under the right rear passenger seat.
Jermaine Jones then tried to run from Deputies. Inv. Russell then deployed his taser
striking Jones in the back causing him to fall on the ground. After a brief struggle Jones
was taken into custody.

Jones is currently on Felony Probation as a first offender for Aggravated Assault.

Jones was sentenced on 4-21-2021 in the Richmond County Superior Court.
