 The Internet Protocol suite commonly known as TCP / IP .

 TCP / IP: is a set of communication protocols used in the internet networks.

 The name TCP / IP is coming from:

• The control protocol known as (TCP).

• The Internet Protocol known as (IP).

6 TCP & UDP PROTOCOLS

 TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) is a transport layer protocol used by
applications that require guaranteed delivery, also called (Connection Oriented).
 Examples:
• Sending Emails.
• Web Browsing.

 UDP (User Datagram Protocol) is a transport layer protocol offers only a non-
guaranteed data delivery, also called (Connectionless Protocol).
 Examples:
• Video Streaming.
• Viber & Whatsup Chats.
• VOIP.
