Relational Processes: Processes of Being and Having

Relational Processes involve states of being (including having). They can be
classified according to whether they are being used to identify something or to
assign a quality of something.
Processes which establish an identity are called Identifying Processes.
Processes which assign a quality are called Attributive Processes.
Each has its own characteristic Participant roles.
In Attributive these are Carrier and Attribute.
In Identifying Processes the Participants roles are Token and Value.

Relational Processes can be further sub-classified according to whether they are:

intensive, possessive or circumstantial.

Intensive attributive process

Note: In attributive sub-type, a quality, classification, or descriptive
(atribute) is assigned to a participant (Carrier). The carier is always realized
by a noun or nominal group.

indefinite nominal (introduced by a/an)

synonyms exist. Here are the list

Intensive Identfying process

The intensive identfying processes contrast with the attributives both
semantically (berkenaan dengan arti kata) and grammatically. Semantically, an
identfying clause is not about ascribing or classifying but defining. The
meaning of an identifying intensive is that “X serves to define the identity of Y”

# Grammatically, identifying involves two participants: a token (that which

stands for what is being defined) and a value (that which defines).

The most frequently used identifying intensive verb is be other synonymous

intensive verbs are listed as follows:

Existential Processes are processes of existence.
