Step-1
Verify the pre-configuration in all switches with “Show run” and “Show vlan”.

Step-2

Verify the trunk link configuration between Switch 1 and switch 3.

On switch 3,

Switch-3#show vlan

500 VLAN0500 active

600 VLAN0600 active E0/0

Refer to the exhibit.

Switch 3’s interface E0/0 is not a trunk port and it is now under the Vlan 600 access port.

According to the instruction, Switch’3 interface E0/0 must be trunk port.

So we need to fix this problem.

Your task is now below the command.

Switch-3#configure terminal

Switch-3(config)# interface E0/0

Switch-3(config-if)# no switchport access vlan 600

Switch-3(config-if)# switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

Switch-3(config-if)# switchport mode trunk

Step-3

Verify the vlan configuration on switch-2.

On switch-2,

Switch-2# show vlan

500 VLAN0500 active E0/3

600 VLAN0600 active E0/2

According to the diagram,

Switch-2’s interface E0/2 must be in vlan 500, not in vlan 600.

And also Switch-2’s interface E0/3 must be in vlan 600, not in vlan 500.

Switch-2# configure terminal

Switch-2(config)# interface E0/2

Switch-2(config-if)# no switchport access vlan 600

Switch-2(config-if)# switchport access vlan 500

Switch-2# configure terminal

Switch-2(config)# interface E0/3

Switch-2(config-if)# no switchport access vlan 500

Switch-2(config-if)# switchport access vlan 600

Step-4

Verify the vlan configuration on switch-1.

On switch-1,

Switch-1# show vlan

500 VLAN0500 active E0/2,E0/3

600 VLAN0600 active

According to the diagram,

Both Switch-1’s interface E0/2 and E0/3 are under the vlan 500, it should be in the correct vlan

and interface. So we will put Switch-1’s E0/3 to vlan 600.

Switch-1# configure terminal

Switch-1(config)# interface E0/3

Switch-1(config-if)# no switchport access vlan 500

Switch-1(config-if)# switchport access vlan 600

(CCNA 200-125 – VLAN T-Shoot Lab Sim)

Step-5

Verify that native vlan mismatched between Switch-1 and Switch-3.

On switch-1 and Switch-3, (x mean maybe switch-1 or switch-3)

Switch-x # show interface trunk

Switch-x# show int trunk

Port Mode Encapsulation Status Native vlan
E0/x on 802.1q trunking 600

Switch-x # show interface trunk

Switch-x# show int trunk

Port Mode Encapsulation Status Native vlan
E0/x on 802.1q trunking 1

Native vlan must be the same value on both switches.

So we are going to fix this problem in switch-x by changing native vlan value 1 to 600.

On Switch-x,

Switch-x# configure terminal

Siwtch-x(config)# interface E0/x

Switch-x(config-if)#switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

Switch-x(config-if)#Switchport mode trunk

Switch-x(config-if)#switchport trunk native vlan 600

Becareful everyone…… interfaces and switches will be variable.
